[EVENT] On the first day of Christmas...
Winter has been drawing in for quite a while, and even here, Christmas is inescapable. What's going on?
Snow is falling... all around. It's a freezing cold evening, and the air is still—except for the blizzard outside. Will you stay home in the warmth, watching the snow fall and the frost form on the windows? Or will you head out into the whirling night? Visibility is next to nothing, but you'll probably be fine... as long as you don't go too far.
Snow has fallen! It lies everywhere you look, inches-deep, from Tokyo to Mikage-cho. The air is still, and the sky is a clear, wintry blue. Doesn't look like it's going to warm up any time soon. But that means a snow day. You'll be fine, as long as you wrap up warm. Do you want to make a snowman sledge, skate or ski? Waterways are frozen solid, and if you can get to the right store, you'll find the equipment you need. Or maybe you want to keep it closer to home, with snowmen tea-tray sleds and snow angels? Just try not to kill any rivals or near-rivals with a snowball.
Snow also drifts gently from the ceiling of the Velvet Room, fading before touching the floor. Festive, unseen sleigh bells clash unnervingly with the usual elegiac piano melody. Igor watches on with his trademark knowing smile—the festivities are just beginning....
In Iwatodai Mall, Inaba Shopping District, and Station Square, there are Jack Frosts around the place, along with chilly-looking Pixies, Onmoraki, and many other assorted demons. They have large sacks, or toolboxes, or planks of wood; they work merrily in hard hats, and whisper and giggle amongst themselves, and watch you as you pass. What could they be up to?
Christmas trees now stand in all the open spaces, hung about with baubles and lights. Illuminations are up, too, on every building, across every street, between streetlamps, you name it. More urban areas, like Tokyo or Sumaru, are as dazzling as you'd expect. But it isn't just the real world—all cognitive zones are suddenly hung with countless tiny lights as well. Probably not a good sign.... then again, the inhabitants seem strangely reluctant to fight you.

[This is suspicious. So suspicious, in fact, that this young Akechi has a notepad at the ready as he steps outside in his argyle sweatervest, long sleeved shirt, almond blazer and... he needs gloves. Absolutely. It is mandatory if it's going to be cold.
So that's the first thing on the list. He boldly trudges out to Junes, which also seems to have some impish little Jack Forsts darting around and whispering to each other.
He stops, taking note of this. Very peculiar...
But he gets the gloves he seeks, and on his way back home stops by the shopping district to grab a mug of cocoa from one of the Black Frosts. He takes a seat at the table at Souzai Daigaku, watching the snow fall and the little demons doing their work.]
But why are they here? This isn't Mikage-cho... Or Mementos.
[The Black Frost shrugs, sipping some cocoa.]
...I'll have to investigate. Make no mistake, I will find out what you're up to.
B. On The Prowl
[Curious, Raven can be spotted all over the place, whether it's marveling at the lights strewn around Tokyo or boggling at the friendliness of the Shadows in Mementos. He's taking notes every step of the way. Come join him in unearthing the truth!]
A
She grinned hearing him make that investigate notion and chose to pop out then. "So sure about that detective?" she teased.
no subject
"Well, of course. The presence of all these Shadows outside Mementos is incredibly odd. And they're docile, just like at the Halloween party..."

The next day, though, she's out and about. It won't be easy to drag her into snow-day festivities (unless you're Aspen); admiring the decorations and trying to figure out what the Shadows are up to, though? That's a significantly lower bar, especially once it turns out the Metaverse is also decorated.

"Oh, thank god." And suddenly there is one Raven scurrying closer. "I was starting to think all the older teens were going to transform into children."

[Kasumi's been... a bit less social than she'd like to be! Part of that had to do with getting stuck in Tartarus for a bit. It's not her fault that place was so disorienting! And the coffins. And the moon! Everything in Iwatodai is so creepy at night...
By the time she got out, she decided it was high time to go down to Mementos to blow off some steam, except... there are caroling Jack Frosts in the tunnels. And Pixies are stringing up lights? And...
Why is there a Mara in a Santa hat?
Kasumi.exe is not responding.
She may also stand out a bit, considering she's dressed in what is effectively a spy outfit, albeit with a mask that should be familiar to anyone who's seen a more 'normal' Yoshizawa in the Metaverse.]
Um... Did I do this?
[This is so weird.]
B.
[She can later be found wandering Tokyo, sighing wistfully at all the pretty light displays. But there are Shadows here, too. What're they doing?
A Jack Frost hops, trying to reach a particularly tricky branch to string lights over, so Kasumi walks over and smiles.]
Here. Let me help!
[The Jack Frost looks upon her in awe as she assists and then offers the little guy a pat on the head.]
It's okay. All that matters is that you did your best!

She was kind to him, which made Futaba smile as she made her way over. "Hello! I don't think we've met before. I'm Futaba."
no subject
"Well, I've met a version of you, but I know this place tends to have a lot of the same people." She pauses. "Anyway, it's nice to meet you, Futaba-chan! I'm Kasumi Yoshizawa."

Very, very briefly, she averts her eyes. Hoo boy. All this time, and she's...
Well, she's been stuck in Tartarus. She has an excuse! Electronics don't really work in there, which is super annoying. It's fine. She's fine!
Right. Time to smile. "Senpai! This is a surprise."
...Kind of. Maybe.

Makoto isn't completely sure, since it doesn't snow too often in the real Iwatodai, but surely the avatar of death doesn't get cold. It'll be fine if he hikes back to the Velvet Room in his typical school uniform
...Right?
no subject
But as she wanders around, an unfamiliar face catches her height in an unfamiliar uniform. "Oh! Hello." Might as well be friendly. The school uniform doesn't look like one she immediately recognizes from around Tokyo. "Are you new around here? I, uh... kinda got stuck in that weird tower for a while, so I think I missed a lot."
no subject
She also mentions being stuck in Tartarus, which means she's either incredibly calm or has a death wish. "And you're heading back to Iwatodai?" Well if that's what she really wants to do... "As long as you stay away from the school around midnight you should avoid getting caught in Tartarus."

Perhaps the cork board that had been left here had some real answers.
no subject
...but then he gets an idea.
A moment later, the door opens, letting in a blast of cold air. From the doorway, a snowball comes flying at the back of Akechi's head, accompanied by raucous, childish laughter. Ren hastens to push the door closed again, but perhaps he doesn't quite do it quickly enough to avoid detection.

B: While walking around the now-frozen streets, you may find Aki-chan doing...something. The snow is his friend now, he's decided. He's probably buried head to toe in the snow somewhere, but he might not be! Someone should probably check up on him before he turns himself into an icicle, though.

She spots Rose in the crowd with little delay, and she heads over to the pair, giving her scarf one more tug for security.

From his end, Haru doesn't think Akako needs much introduction.

He wandered enough to make it to the station square, the amount of Jack Frosts was alarming, they all seemed to be hard at work and for the most part ignoring him, just looking at him, no movement to attack, which only perplexed him more. He started paying more attention to the people, which didn't seem like they saw anything out of the normal. He desperately needed new answers, where was he, and why was it like this? Those two needed to be answered first. He really hoped this wasn't a prank.
He took a deep breath before moving to look around more, he was shocked when one of the Black Frosts offered him hot chocolate. He stared at it, a little afraid to accept. He didn't like this and there were so many alarm bells ringing in his head. "What is going on?" He asked, carefully taking the mug from the shadow.
no subject
"Not used to benevolent Shadows?" Sip, sip. Nice and toasty. "Well then. You must be new here."
