[EVENT] 'Tis the Spooky Season...

Autumn is drawing on in the Velvet Room and its environs. The days are colder, the nights are crisper, leaves are a riot of colour ready to fall from the trees. And (besides all the pumpkin spice popping up for some reason) that means only one thing: Hallowe'en!

As the season approaches, you may undergo a mysterious transformation. Perhaps you wake up with wings, or hooves, or gills! Or perhaps your transformation will change more, go deeper... perhaps to your very soul. Who can tell? You might wake up as an animal, or a mythological creature. Or as anything at all.

Transformations will reverse on the morning of November 1st. Probably.

In the meantime, Destinyland is celebrating the holiday. Cheerful Jack-o'-Lantern Shadows have set up on street corners, handing out flyers advertising the park's seasonal festivities. In the days leading up to the 31st, Destinyland will host all the usual fun: Hallowe'en games, Trick or Treat for the babies (and the not-so-babey), the Gorb fortune teller, Shadow-run food stalls serving spooky meals and treats, and, of course, the haunted house with its array of friendly, candy-giving Shadows. Or maybe they're not so friendly.

On the night of Hallowe'en itself, there will be a parade at the park and a grand party out in the main square with food, music, and plenty of space, though characters are not obliged to attend. However, if you wish to show off your new form, see what transformations have been wrought on your fellow guests, or simply take the chance to celebrate, it may be a good opportunity...

Who knows? Perhaps you'll even see some special guests.

"Well, to start, the TV broadcasts and movie theaters are all influenced by our cognition. Physical media is less susceptible, but there are times where an idea spread in the public's consciousness may manifest as physical products on store shelves..."

The gay chicken mascot plushies immediately come to mind, but that goes unsaid for Crow's dignity.

"So we can just think and things will appear from our thoughts?"

"I did notice the multiple versions of people. It's as if this place has a preference," he said while chuckling a little.

"I'm trying to find friends here," he added after a pause. "Anyone you'd recommend?"

Jay seemed so... happy and safe around him. Ken couldn't grasp why. It didn't make any sense at all. But right now, all that mattered was making him feel better, after all the stuff that happened today.

"So, what do you want to do now?"

He shrugged, "uh, I'm not sure. Is this a permanent thing now?" his tail hung over the seat swaying slowly.

"I like my version of you," He said softly, "Raven makes friends with everyone pretty easily, he's a pretty social person. Surprised he wasn't turned into a butterfly in this whole ordeal."

She'll run around this tree maybe to get him off her tail, maybe she could chase him when he tried to come around it.

Ken had to admit, Jay was... kinda cute like this, with his tail moving like that...

"I think Raven said it should be for Halloween, so I guess after Halloween everyone will be back to normal."

"I have already met Raven-san," he answered. "He does seem nice. But by 'your version of me', do you mean there is a Ken Amada coming from your homeworld?"

He already knew there were two other versions of him, and assigning homeworlds would be helpful.

"Essentially. Perhaps there are unspoken limits, but get a strong enough concept into the public's cognition here, and it will typically manifest in some way or form." A mischievous sort of smirk crosses his cute, kitty muzzle.

Falcon pauses. Ordinarily, he'd long have grown uncomfortable with such prolonged physical contact, but there's something... extremely calming about petting the cute ears and soft fur of Raven. The purrs harmonize with something in his circuits in a way he can't describe, and... well.

He should really tell Raven to move it.

"I have nowhere to be," he says instead. Which might as well be Falconese for 'please stay I'm comfortable'.

"No, I don't think so at least, he's from another world. I just live with him. I guess it's inappropriate to call him mine." He thinks out loud.

"Well, for the time being, at least I match you now in your non-humaness." He smirked, his ears wiggled a little in amusement.

He goes around the tree and-- oh!! Where did friend go??

"Oh. You can tell them now, then!"

"Sure, but..."

Why are you so unbothered? was left unsaid at the last second, as Ken didn't want to be rude.

"That's fascinating! What are some of your best examples of changes brought that way?"

He's almost forgotten his original goal of fishing for information with this curiosity overtaking him.

Well, that was his question answered. In any case, he had no intention approaching that Ken for now. That would wait for later.

"I see. Anyway, is there something you'd like to do right now? There's a whole festival going on, after all."

[fogboundcrow]

Raven takes his cell phone out of his pocket, just long enough to fire off some messages. Once that's done, he places a hand on his hip. "Well then. Shall we proceed?"

"I was born ready," Ren grins. "Let's go!"

[fogboundcrow]

And so off they go! Raven at least holds the door, given Ren's lack of hands, but once he's free, it's time to hurry off to Tokyo and, in turn, to Destinyland...

For science, for adventure, and perhaps some spooky memories.

“A healthy… cake?” He actually tilts his head in confusion at that.
That’s- yeah ok sure cognition is weird so sure, yeah, screw it, healthy cake!

He shakes his head. “Well, if cognition can do that then I’m sure keeping our diets normal isn’t to hard”

Oh! He didn't follow, she should surprise him. She jumped out from behind the tree running at him.

"But?" he asked confused, not knowing what was going on.

"I haven't done much in destiny land yet, would you like to explore?" He offered. Ken seemed to be a bit more calculating than his Ken was.
