It let out a hollow, echoing cry, and Maruki barely had a second to register the shift before the air itself twisted, a violent Garula spell roaring toward them.
The howling wind tore through the space they had just occupied. Dust and debris scattered in its wake.
Several more Shadows flanked the raven-like creature—vague, warped humanoid figures that skittered unnaturally along the ground. Their movements were erratic, but their aggression was solely locked onto him and Hamuko.
Maruki clicked his tongue, quickly adjusting his glasses as he took in the battlefield.
“Uhhh...looks like the raven’s leading them,” he noted. “It’s the one coordinating them all but its not that strong. Though you probably already know that."
