Alright, Alright, this was fine. This was cool. Just vibing in the velvet room. It wasn't like it was his first time or anything. Still felt strange being here though. The doors were a new addition. Not to mention the bulletin board. Which he had yet to make sense of the most he got was multiple Akechis and code names. That was... okay. He was getting good enough at handling very-much-not-dead Akechi back home. They weren't best friends by any means but he would like to think they were on the way to actually pretty solid friends. Most of that was because he convinced Ren to stay.

So, what he had pieced together was: This was a relatively safe place, there's multiple Akechis, and there's doors. What was he supposed to do with this information. He hadn't really explored anything without someone else there, and no it's not because he was afraid, like the cat would like to tease.

1) He was staying in the room gathering the willpower required to explore the outside. But for now he was trying to put together the bulletin board. Sure was a lot of words. Ren could be called Akira, okay, he's got that down. Akechis and Ren/Akiras were together a lot. With how much Ren fawned over him, it wasn't shocking. It was at this point he realized he should probably take notes. He pulled out his phone, surprised to find it kinda worked. "Alright!"

Now back to finding out what was going on. He was scanning it over trying to piece things together. He had expected red strings, but blue worked fine too. He was reading and taking notes fine up until a particular one. "For real?!" He shouted, the first real thing he said in a long minute. "Siblings?"

2)With the courage gathered he stepped into the fifth door, glad to see a version on Toyko he recognised. He traveled around, starting to notice the almost scripted way others interacted. Creepy. He decided to start with the place he knew best. Le blanc. He hoped there wasn't anything out of place, boss would kill if he knew it was. Okay maybe not.

He was just standing at the door, looking through the glass. His hand on the doorknob. He didn't think he'd run into Ren, or an Akira. He just kinda felt weird going in there and not knowing what to expect.

"I'm not that small." A little scowl that absolutely isn't a pout takes hold of him. He's over five feet, after all. That's... well, not as tall as Ryuji, but still respectable for his age!

Ah, but praise. Praise is good, and it seems enough to calm the grumpy child. "Heh. But thank you. I pride myself in my efforts and ensuring that the residents here are informed of this world's many oddities."

Yeah yeah, he's still small. He might be as tall as Futaba tho. "I see, that would be helpful, but aren't you a little young for metaverse stuff. You could get hurt." He was in the velvet room which meant he had to have a persona, which means he wasn't helpless, but his point still stood.

It seemed if he fed this Akechi with praise it was too easy to win him over, maybe he should try that back home. He might get shot if he does that.

"I literally have Personas and have been honing my skills in both Mementos and the TV world." Pardon the hint of a growl to his words. It's not that this stranger is being rude, but damn it! He is perfectly capable.

He squinted at him. That was more Akechi like. "I just don't want you hurt jeez." He sighed, he didn't know when Akechi went into the metaverse for the first time, long enough ago to kill Futaba's mom. Just damn thirteen was... young for that shit.

Huh. An honest statement, at least. Enough to soften his scowl. "While I appreciate the concern, I believe you'll find I'm quite adept. Almighty skills alone are already quite efficient."

He sighed. "Skills aren't all there is. You can't be going in there alone." He went through being alone and in tough spots before. "You have to be ready for anything and that includes attacking you when you can't use your persona or a weapon to defend yourself. Your persona is an extension of you, but it can't be the only thing you are good at."

"I have a powerful weapon, and it's not as though I'm without allies. Plus, if anything truly hazardous transpired, Crow would know and immediately intervene due to our memory link."

He smirks. Take that! He is perfectly equipped. All is well.

He sighed, "You can't rely on your weapon, it can get knocked out of your hands. You also can't rely on a memory link, I don't know how that works, but Crow could be too late. You have to be able to save yourself. I know you want to be able to do that now, but you have to let yourself be a kid, you'll regret it later. Trust me I know."

"I'm already involved in trying to thwart a supernatural serial murder and kidnapping case back home where the culprit utilizes a cognitive world to carry out his crimes. While I'm not alone, I don't really have the luxury to 'be a kid' when such pressing matters are at hand."

Though that's back home. Obviously, he has more wiggle room here. "...I find recreational time here, of course, but that doesn't mean I want to slack off."

"They shouldn't rely on a kid for that. Even if you know you are up to the challenge, they are adults, and I know they suck but damn. You deserve to slack off. You deserve all of the rest you get because being a kid is hard enough." He sighed. He knew growing up too fast was, it caused damage he wished he could undo. He didn't get the option and if this kid could, he should take it.

"I chose to participate in the case of my own volition. I gathered the evidence surrounding the Midnight Channel. I found a way to awaken my powers. Ordinary adults cannot begin to comprehend what is truly at stake, and this is far more urgent than simply slacking off."

Though stern, he doesn't sound angry, at least, but he's much too stubborn to give up. This is of great personal interest to him.

There was no way he was going to convince a tiny version of Goro Akechi that he shouldn't get involved in things. He didn't even know when Akechi got involved with Shido. He had to have been young then too. Which meant this was a lost cause.

"Just make sure you have a childhood. Don't try to grow up too fast."

"Childhood is a luxury that can wait back home. Here, there's more leisure time, so it's not as though I'm always chasing Shadows." He pauses, blowing a small sigh. "It's not that I don't appreciate the concern, but the others pursuing the case are only a few years older than me. As are you."

"I wouldn't have started growing up as fast as I did if I had a choice. I lost my childhood because of my father-" Oh, maybe they were more alike than he'd like to admit. "-I don't want to see other's going through that or not being able to just act like a kid. I regret it, I don't regret standing up for her. I don't regret what I did. I did the right thing. I regret losing the ability to be a kid. I never stopped trying to be an adult after that."

"I see." Hm... That's a lot to deal with for any child. "I'm sorry that your father was such a waste of human flesh and that he robbed you of your childhood. It's not as though I haven't lost a fair share of innocence as well, but I'm of the mind that any youthful antics can wait until after the threat has been dealt with."

Because it's bigger. It's important. It gives him purpose.

Alright he'd give him that. "As long as you give yourself the space to be a kid." Hearing that about his father was, it mixed emotions. He wasn't used to people saying his father was bad, and that he wasn't in the same breath. They normally said they both were. Ren was the first one to break that. Then Ann. Then Yusuke. The rest of the team followed shortly.

"Now, what do you do around here for fun?"

Hmm... What to do for fun. That is an apt question, isn't it?

He may be thinking it over a bit too seriously, brows furrowed and a hand beneath his chin in that familiar Akechi fashion.

"It really depends. I rather enjoy honing my skills in the cognitive worlds, as well as reading, investigating... I have started to dabble in video games since everything is free, and it's rather fascinating to explore each area in order to get a grasp on everything. Having access to places like Iwatodai so easily certainly doesn't hurt."

"Video games, that's something we can bond over. Let's do that." He smiled. That was some good idea, he had gotten Ren into it before. He was sure he could show a kid things he would enjoy. "You look like you like story line games, ever tried a visual novel?"

"I'm passingly aware of them, though I admit I haven't dabbled in them too heavily." Still, the interest is appreciated. He can at least acknowledge that this guy's attempting to break the ice. "Since I share the video game console with other children, our collection of games is sort of a mixed bag. I'm still trying to find the optimal strategy to finally dethrone Ren at Super Bash Bros."

But he's getting there! Probably.

"Which character does he pick? They've all got a weakness, you just have to learn them. He's good at controls but if he can't land a hit it's useless. I've dethroned Ren back home a few times." He chuckles all proud of what they did.
