It's Valentine's Day, and that means just one thing for the inhabitants of the Velvet Room: chaos.

And chocolate, possibly. Or even something else? Or perhaps you're spending the holiday entirely by yourself?

"Gotcha! Just gotta get the whites a sliiiight whipping..." Hamuko hummed. She hadn't mastered Shinjiro's incredible one-handed egg cracking skills or his talent on separating whites and yolks yet, but she at least can give it a go! After getting the yolks in their own bowl she gave the whites a brief whipping (not too much, according to what she looked up) and then added yolks, vanilla, oil...

After a few minutes, she's got the wet ingredients together! Easy!

"Okay! Now we mix this in - instructions said to try not to over-mix since that develops the gluten more? I think we can get a pretty stable crumb with some folding. Ready?"

"Ready!"

Sumire is following Hamuko's lead on this one.

"Okaaaaay... steady does it...!" Hamuko guided, caaaarefully tipping her bowl over the one Sumire was using and keeping the ingredients steadily flowing without just dumping them all in. All so it could nicely fold together.

It's a slow mixture process, but Sumire's happy to help - and while she's not a baker as such, the kitchen is one place where she's always known what she's doing.

"All right! Now what?"
