"Well... maybe someday it'll get to look like this again. You might be around for that, even," she suggested, pointing at his cybernetics. "Being there to be part of the rebuild effort... however far away it is, I think it'll be satisfying, don't you?"

She looked around the park, imagining what it might look like if society collapsed. Wild, overgrown, the trees probably stripped down for resources but otherwise left alone...? The river probably fought over. Sad, but... getting things built back up would be worth looking forward to.
