[Visitors to the Velvet Room are in for an unusual sight.

Gorb balloons. Streamers. Banners that not only read, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GORO AKECHI! but also...

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FRIENDSHIP!

This particular banner has cutesy illustrations of a normal Akechi and Falcon. Yes, really.

There are multiple, multi-layered cakes. One is an angel food cake, decorated to resemble Robin Hood. Then there's another cake, fashioned after Loki, with lovingly decorated dazzle camouflage frosting. Inside is a heavenly red velvet.

Lastly, there's a purely chocolate delight, patterned after Hereward.

There are even little Gorb cupcakes, designed to look like the myriad Akechis resident in the Velvet Room. Fresh brewed coffee and Jazz Jin mocktails await those who seek a beverage, and there's even some curry. How thoughtful!

Before Raven can even speak, an ecstatic Shiro whips his way, smiling radiantly. "Falcon! Congratulations!"

Yes, he's talking about the banner. He even shifts in place a little, eyes bright and practically sparkling. "Was it Magpie? Surely it must be..."

Raven squints at his ever eager Shadow. It's not that he isn't curious, but Falcon's demeanor suggests he's a bit put off by this whole arrangement.

"Well, thank you. This isn't the day we've been celebrating here, but I won't turn up my nose at a little indulgence."

Falcon internally cringes, eyes darting away bashfully despite himself. If he could... he might've blushed out of embarrassment.

"Do you have to say it like that?" Ugh. So very, very embarrassing. Still. "But... I think so." Considering he got a whole new Persona and all.

Raven was the one who told him about the strange phenomenon that is social links, even if Falcon still doesn't quite understand it. He doesn't quite relax, but he sags a little at Raven's change of topic, though.

"Again, I don't think anyone will object to you having a party for yourself," he says, "I suppose today is simply a universal day to... remind us."

Yeah, right. It almost feels like a taunt.

"It's odd that this is the first time they've done it." Granted, it'd only been a year before.

Quiet and contemplative, Raven glances at the decor. "Perhaps because we're still the most prevalent person in almost two years, they sought to do something for us specifically."

[gorobo]

"I don't know what drives the old fart and his lackeys," Falcon huffs, "and honestly, at this point, I don't think I ever will. I certainly wasn't asking for this."

If someone wants to throw a party, they can do that fine by themselves, thanks. Not this... forced 'surprise' party. Ugh.

"Too much attention?" Though a small frown tugs at his lips, he remains calm. It's understandable, really. It's lacking the sincerity of a genuine birthday party.

A crop of guilt builds in Falcon's throat; Raven's clearly enjoying it, he didn't mean to shit on his fun.

"... Something like that," he says, more subdued. "It doesn't feel very genuine, I suppose."

He crosses his arms.

"Still, just because I don't enjoy it, doesn't mean you shouldn't," he amends. "It's for you as much as it is-- apparently-- for Magpie, myself, and every other version of us."

"I mostly just see it as an opportunity for some mild indulgence." He peers at the cakes and the drinks. "Though I know that's less fruitful for you. I imagine a more personal celebration would hold significantly more meaning, anyway."

[gorobo]

I don't know about that, he goes to say, but Loki, Robin Hood, Hereward and Mephistopheles all push against his soul, metaphorically raising their eyebrows. He huffs, but replies truthfully.

"Indeed. It would," he says, "but I'm not exactly asking for it either. This is what we got, like it or not, so it's moot."

He pauses for a bit, looking over the party, before he speaks up again.

"I got a new Persona. Other than Hereward, I mean," he says, lowly, "I thought you would like to know."

"Oh?" He perks up, eyes wide with interest. "What sort of Persona?"

Please, Falcon. Tell him more. This is big news! Very, very big news.

[gorobo]

"Its name is Mephistopheles. The demon from Faust," Falcon starts, "it excells in fire and physical attacks, while rendering physical attacks against itself null. It also drains curse, but is weak to bless." Like Loki and Hereward. So, in that regard, he will still have to use Robin Hood. Even so...

"It's not an unwelcome addition, I suppose," he says coolly, and Mephistopheles sends a wave of indignation at him. Hey, I'm GREAT.
