[Visitors to the Velvet Room are in for an unusual sight.

Gorb balloons. Streamers. Banners that not only read, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GORO AKECHI! but also...

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FRIENDSHIP!

This particular banner has cutesy illustrations of a normal Akechi and Falcon. Yes, really.

There are multiple, multi-layered cakes. One is an angel food cake, decorated to resemble Robin Hood. Then there's another cake, fashioned after Loki, with lovingly decorated dazzle camouflage frosting. Inside is a heavenly red velvet.

Lastly, there's a purely chocolate delight, patterned after Hereward.

There are even little Gorb cupcakes, designed to look like the myriad Akechis resident in the Velvet Room. Fresh brewed coffee and Jazz Jin mocktails await those who seek a beverage, and there's even some curry. How thoughtful!

"... Fuck it, why not, it's been a while since I've gotten to deal with something so straightforward as a fight for my life against a giant carnivorous dinosaur. How would we go about doing that?"

"But you have fought dinosaurs." You can't just say that and not elaborate, Wolf! He needs to know more. For science.

"You would be surprised to know how many fucking digimon are just some variation of 'big monster'. Many of them some variety of extinct lizard. Better than even odds that they breathe fire."

[fogboundcrow]

"That does align with your typical Kaiju trappings..." Hmm, though that does raise a question. "Were Digimon manmade, or are the similarities pure coincidence?"

"Ah! On this matter, at least, I have some knowledge," said Rookmon, cutting in. "The true origin of we denizens of the Digital World is lost, of course, to time- but there are many schools of thought on the matter. Some have studied the structure of our world and come to the conclusion that we are human-made, or arose organically from data on their networks, growing in complexity as what humans call the 'information age' grew to prominence. Some believe our worlds are reflections of one another, two among many, each with different laws and qualities about them. Still others believe our world is older by far than we realize, that we have existed alongside humanity since its inception in one way or another, only taking this form now as humanity's consciousness turns towards the computer. It's a fascinating area of study, and some digimon can get quite passionate about it."
