Fatalis's Revival
[Context: this network post]
Fatalis returns! This creates three opportunities for residents of the Velvet Room.
A. You arrive while his body is regenerating in the middle of the Velvet Room. This is more a mingle prompt to allow your characters to talk about Fatalis's return without him being really back yet. Interestingly, if asked, the attendants of the Velvet Room will reveal that it is not the fabrication of his new body, but instead, standard regeneration after death. He apparently died minutes after getting his new body.
B. Fatalis wakes up in the Velvet Room. Anyone there has an opportunity to talk to him.
C. You find Fatalis at the table of a restaurant in Tokyo, casually enjoying a meal.

"Welcome back." He said with the most hurtful tone he could gather up. He wasn't exactly a fan since he had been hurting Ken after all. He wasn't sure how the other had faired or what the new body was capable of, but without powers. He was sure he was matched now.

"Hello, and thank you. You're the kid who lives with my counterpart, right? Long time no see."
His tone was of casual conversation, as if nothing was wrong.

"Is that what you came to see me for? To be the valiant knight in shining armor defending the interests of your friend? Sorry to disappoint you, but Nox is good enough at tormenting himself on his own. He's never really needed my help."

"You want it so badly. I can see it. This fire burning in your eyes. Why hold back? Go ahead. Hurt me. Make me pay."
no subject
"However, if you act out of sorts, I will hurt you beyond your comprehension. I know what the scars do to Ken. I will hurt you more than that. You'll wish you could just regenerate."

Ren stops in the doorway, staring with mingled contempt and wariness. Despite Nox's promises that Fatalis won't be a danger, his skin prickles with a sense of danger.

"Hello, Drake-san. Would you like a seat?"
no subject
"Not really the greeting I expected."

"It's just, usually when you've done a whole thing to take someone out, they don't talk to you like, 'Oh, hey, dude, how's it going?' In my experience."
no subject
He thinks for a moment.
"Although I suppose I should also congratulate you. You were the team leader, right? Impressive to have managed to coordinate so many people."
no subject
"Thanks," he says flatly. "That does seem on brand for you, now that you mention it."
no subject
He takes a sip from his glass of alcohol-free cocktail.
"Although I do regret we could not have a genuine exchange of ideas before our confrontation."

Maybe this is a chance to speak with him properly? For them to be on better terms. That maybe, it won't have to be the way it was before, and things can go differently.
So she waits, and waits... until finally, he stirs. With a tiny worried look, Briar speaks.
"You're awake... How are you feeling?"
no subject
Nethertheless, he has no reason not to be gracious back.
"I do not believe we have ever been properly introduced," he says while getting up. "My name is Fatalis. And you are?"
no subject
"Oh, my name? I'm Sumire Yoshizawa, but my codename is Briar."
She still doesn't exactly know what she feels or thinks at first, not really. He was going to hurt a lot of people, but he's not going to now. And she still wants to give him a chance. It's a lot to sort through.
The confusion seems to make the expression on her face hard to read as well, as she struggles to smile or frown, and instead just offers an awkward gesture with her head.
"We... never really did talk, did we? It's nice to meet you, Fatalis-san."
She at least tries to keep her tone personable, and it's clear that there's genuine effort.
"Do you need anything? I can get you some water or a snack...?"
no subject
He stretches a little.
"Igor's regenerative services seem to be quite performant, so I don't think I need anything. But thank you for the offer."
no subject
Is it though? She's not sure. Again, her emotions feel muddier than she's used to, and for some reason it feels like she's going through an odd fog if she thinks on it too hard... best not to push it and the vague discomfort of the subject.
"Is it? That's... a relief, honestly. I was afraid it was painful, but I'm glad to hear it wasn't as painful as it seemed."

A, B for Fatalis
For anyone else coming in, she gives a soft nod - she's just here to be sure and be careful, but if one wants to strike up a conversation, she is willing to chat.
But naturally, eventually... once Fatalis wakes up and has a few other conversations, Hamuko will have something to say, herself.
