Ren follows Goro to the Dojima house, steps as sure and confident as he can make them with his heart pounding a bit louder than normal in his chest. Maybe he's nervous for this, so what? It's not every day you get to meet the alternate-reality-family your boyfriend found during his two-month timeskip that was only five hours or so to you. His head's still kind of reeling from the...everything, but he's rolling with the punches. Not like I expected things to be normal with us, he says to the part of himself that's maybe not-very-Joker-like and trying to shy away from everything.

Life comes at you fast, but Akechis ~~come faster-- well. Hopefully not, and Ren's not thinking about that right now, nope~~ throw curveballs at half the speed of light and expect you to catch 'em. And Ren isn't letting one slip by him yet! ...Even if this one might be aimed right between his eyes.

Ren squeezes his boyfriend's hand -- it's what boyfriends are there for, after all -- and readjusts his grip on the little...okay, large bag of gifts against his chest (hey, everything's free here, and he didn't wanna show up unprepared) as they come to a stop in front of the door.

He takes a moment, letting go of Goro's hand, for a once-over just to make sure he looks good, brushing invisible bits of dust from his jacket and readjusting his glasses. Then, with a nod to his boyfriend, Ren raises the hand carrying the pile of gifts to knock on the door.

It's showtime.

"Hey guys!" He calls out as his boyfriend opens the door, resisting the urge to run his fingers through his hair (for now). "We're here!"

Ren's stomach growls...again. "That sounds good," he grins.

"Always happy to oblige." He very reluctantly rises from the couch, stretching like a cat along the way. "Any preferences? As I recall, he brought two different types of pastas, udon, some sushi and eel, and I believe some assorted soups?"

There are options, and it is, truthfully, appreciated. The day turned out far more than Akechi had expected, and now neither of them has to cook.

Finally, some comfort food. "Udon would be awesome right now," Ren lets out a sigh of relief to himself. "Thank you." He waves his thanks towards Magpie.

"All right. Just a moment, then." He'll take it out of the fridge, giving it a quick reheat. Once the microwave dings, he fetches some chopsticks and brings the dish over. It's high quality, by the looks of it, and likely would have cost a fair bit in the 'real world.'

"Here, darling. Enjoy." He'll just sit comfortably by Ren. He should probably take care of himself, too, but Ren first!

Nope. Ren can see what Goro's doing from a mile away, and not on his watch. Stubbornly, he follows his boyfriend to the utensil drawer, trying his best to remember where it is for later, and grabs him a pair of chopsticks, too.

"We're eating together," Ren asserts, poking his boyfriend's cheek with his own pair of chopsticks. "We're getting you back in self-care shape, mister." Ren takes a scoop of noodles with the chopsticks. "Open wide."

"...I should have anticipated this outcome." Fiiine, he'll open his mouth, letting his boyfriend feed him like a baby bird all over again. "And for the record, it's not that I don't eat. I ate takoyaki earlier."

He feeds himself! It's just that sometimes he gets busy. Or he prioritizes other people. Either way, he has the chopsticks now, so he'll take a small bite of his own. He's not hogging it, thank you.

Ren snorts. "You eat when it's convenient, not when you need to." Hmm...Ren leans over to peck the side of Goro's head when he swallows his own bite. Positive reinforcement!

Damn it. He just had to break out the cheek kiss, didn't he? Fiiine, he'll take another bite. He can behave.

"I take it you fully intend to whip me into shape in that respect?"

"Maybe even in more ways than one, big guy," he gives Goro a fond pat on his shoulder. It's not a serious flirt and they both know it, but sometimes the only way Ren can communicate is through flirting, so. "Just be a good boy for me and eat your soup, okay?"

"I welcome the challenge." He can't help but flirt right back before taking another bite for himself. He can't be too greedy, though. Ren needs food, too! "Magpie was certainly generous with his offerings, though with this many hungry mouths, I imagine we'll burn through it relatively fast."

"And we don't need money to get more. And we have an extra cook in the house, now," Ren pokes him again, but does take a bite of udon too. "Eat up, little bird. You're about to go into a nice hibernation."

"Birds don't hibernate, Ren." But, yes, he's eating up. He's being a good boyfriend... bird... person. This metaphor is silly. "But I won't lie. I am looking forward to holding you close again."

Listening to his heartbeat, feeling his warmth... Ah. He's missed it so much.

"Well, you're certainly not migrating," Ren grins, scooting close to him so they can start a little bit of that touch right now. "Make like a hummingbird and go dormant for the night."

"I thought you wanted me to eat." He leans into the touch anyway and then, cheeky, feeds him some of his udon. Payback. But he will also steal a kiss, if permitted.

"We don't want to be wasteful."

Ren chews and swallows quickly. "You'll make like a hummingbird and go dormant after dinner," he corrects himself, leaning into the kiss.

Hmm... yes. He's missed this. Akechi even makes a pleased little noise, reaching up to gently caress Ren's cheek with his thumb as he lets the kiss linger. They both probably taste like udon, but as far as tastes go, it's not the worst thing.

It's not a dream. Ren's here. This is real.

But eventually, he has to pull back to breathe. Hopefully Ren won't mind if he presses his forehead against his. "Turning me from a night owl to a hummingbird is quite the task. You'll have your hands full."

"Hands full of love. And kisses to reward good behavior." Ren's being a sappy mush right now and he couldn't care less. He nuzzles Goro's face before breaking to poke another scoop of udon between his boyfriend's lips.

"Then I'll do my best." He'll accept the udon, and after taking it and chewing it up enough to swallow, he leans in for another kiss, a bit deeper this time. He's trying not to go overboard. They just reunited. They're at home. They can't get too carried away...

But they can be affectionate. He's even reaching up to dig his fingers into Ren's curls.

Dang, Goro's needy today...makes sense, given how long they've been separated on his end. Ren kisses a little deeper too, putting his fingers on the back of Goro's head.

He makes a soft sound of approval. More of this, please. He's missed it, and he's content to let it linger, to plunge just a bit deeper. Move a little bit closer. He needs this. The closeness. The affection. The confirmation that this is real.

Unfortunately, he has to breathe. When he pulls back to catch his breath, he chuckles lightly.

"You see what you do to me, Ren? Two months surrounded by people with your face, and all I could think was how much I wanted to kiss you again. I kept dreaming you were here, but I'd wake up alone."

But that's changing. Finally, he feels whole again.

Mmm…kisses good. Ren isn’t the most articulate at the best of times, but kisses in particular are no words, only kith, something Goro could use. “You were thinkin’ about more things than just me,” he says, smiling, eyes still closed to savor the kiss. “Wouldn’t’ve found kids or another husband if you were in a corner missin’ me.”

Heh... little accent slipping out. That's adorable. "Now, now. I'm very adept at... multitasking." He leans in to whisper that last word, then places a little kiss just below the ear. "I took in the children because they needed someone to care for them. Magpie and I... well, our connection is very weird, incredibly messy, and decidedly platonic. As much as he means to me, no one could ever replace you."

He gives another kiss on the lips just to emphasize that fact. "...Also, the accent is incredibly cute."

"Now, now. I'm very adept at--"

Ren jerks his head away when Goro's lips touch his ear because coldwetwarmlightcontactAH. One moment he's sitting on his chair; the next, he's looking up at Goro from his new seat on the floor.

"...Sorry," he winces, after recovering from the shock. "I'm ticklish...?"

"...Ah, apologies." Here, he'll slide down from the couch, offering a hand to help his silly boyfriend up. "Next time, I'll ask first." He can't resist the chuckle that follows, though. "I suppose there's a lot we've yet to cover in that respect. Sensitive spots and the like."

They've made out, and that often involves some degree of hands exploring, but, well. An ear kiss is rather different.

"Yeah," Ren laughs, sitting up with a smile as he takes Goro's hand. "Lots to learn. Including my own ticklishness." He's also afraid his boyfriend might use his own tickling powers for evil, but...he's not suggesting that to him in a million years.
