[It's a perfectly ordinary day in Tokyo, if you ignore the fact that Akechi just got done enduring a horrific, white palace with crumbling architecture, creepy tentacles everywhere, and scraps of memory locked away and scattered like puzzle pieces, culminating in battling a tentacled abomination to free Wakaba Isshiki's Shadow from the prison of her mind, and... well. A mother-daughter reunion is always nice, he supposes.

He's on the phone when he stumbles in, deep in the midst of a conversation.]

Isshiki-san's condition is stable, but we'll have to relocate her before he notices anything amiss. ...Yes, Dad, I'm all right. Not that I don't appreciate the concern, but-

At first he bristles, eyes narrowed into a razor-sharp glare. He has half a mind to complain to Igor about locking him out, but all signs point to Ren's "Igor" being impostor, and... no. Wait.

It was a being summoned forth by the collective desire for shallow, safe bonds without pain, just as Hi-no-Kagutsuchi was drawn in by humanity's collective desire for isolation and solitude. Evidently, humanity likes to bring about these situations quite often.

We got pulled into a parallel reality not unlike the TV world and the Metaverse where we were unable to fight and instead had to use the power of song and dance to free Shadows that were being brainwashed to bond with the aforementioned deity.

Really, it's not all that odd after the fighting tournaments. In the second one, we faced Shadows that resembled our friends and comrades and could somehow use Personas.

... Shadows can't use Personas.

[ Yep, that's all he has to say. He's staring at Akechi like he's worried about Akechi's sanity. Or maybe just worried about the state of reality... That's been true for a while, but he had no idea how serious the problems were. ]

You're right. They normally can't, but this deity was somehow able to make it so. Perhaps it was an unusual side effect of the red fog.

[Ultimately, it's been years, and he doesn't have the case file immediately on hand. It certainly was odd, tho.]

I guess you could tell me anything and I wouldn't be able to say nah, that didn't happen.

...There is literally a dog that can use a Persona. Not a Metaverse dog. Just... a dog. An adorable Shiba Inu who I receive pictures of on the regular.

All that to say, I think at this point, we ought to expect almost anything. If a gas station attendant can be a goddess, then for all we know, Morgana is actually the reincarnation of an ancient entity set to bring about the promised land.

He might be. He sure the fuck isn't human, even if that's his pet theory—heh. Pet theory.

Then again, Teddie was able to grow a human body, so who knows?

Though it probably helps in Teddie's case that his original form was large and shaped like a costume. Morgana's... really small.

What, he grew it like a giant tumor? He grew it in a test tube? What does that even mean?

He grew it inside the bear body and then unzipped his head to reveal himself as an obnoxiously attractive twink.

He was naked at the time. And sweating. And drinking seductively from a water bottle.

It was a lot for me to deal with when I'd barely turned 13.

...Everything about that is awful.

[ Morgana as a hot twink. Morgana growing a human body inside his cat body and then unzipping his skin. ]

The only thing that would make it worse is if he was buff. Buff, human Morgana.

[He punctuates his comment with another bite of sushi. This is absurd.]

We have to be careful what we say in here. If we think about buff human Morgana too much, he might become real. [ A nightmare... ]

...I don't know. I think it's a rather tempting thought experiment. Can the collective will of us residents bring untold monstrosities to life?

Perhaps I will meditate on that image for science.

[It would be horrifying in all the wrong ways... Funny if they made it happen, though.]

[ The worst thing is, from knowing his own Akechi, Ren only puts the odds at about 50/50 that this Akechi is messing with him. ]

I'm with you on the general concept. It's just buff Morgana specifically where you lose me. Let's choose something else weird and we can both meditate on it.
