[It's a perfectly ordinary day in Tokyo, if you ignore the fact that Akechi just got done enduring a horrific, white palace with crumbling architecture, creepy tentacles everywhere, and scraps of memory locked away and scattered like puzzle pieces, culminating in battling a tentacled abomination to free Wakaba Isshiki's Shadow from the prison of her mind, and... well. A mother-daughter reunion is always nice, he supposes.
He's on the phone when he stumbles in, deep in the midst of a conversation.]
Isshiki-san's condition is stable, but we'll have to relocate her before he notices anything amiss. ...Yes, Dad, I'm all right. Not that I don't appreciate the concern, but-
[The signal cuts out, and... ah. The Velvet Room. And not the Velvet Room of his childhood, but... this one.
At first he bristles, eyes narrowed into a razor-sharp glare. He has half a mind to complain to Igor about locking him out, but all signs point to Ren's "Igor" being impostor, and... no. Wait.
Recollection flashes before him. With that recollection, he grimaces.]
...Of course I'd end up back here.
[He shuts his eyes, brings a hand to his face, and breathes in deeply. He was such a stupid tween, and if people connect him to said tween... Who even knows how much time has passed here?]

fogboundcrow for the funny. Some info on his profile. Yes, he's wearing a Shujin uniform.]

[Here, he'll even give him a comforting pat on the head. It's okay.
His younger self frowns, drooping over his dinner.]
Sorry, Akira-kun. I got a little ahead of myself, didn't I?

[After all, they have all the time in the world. They certainly don't need to rush.]

[Best to save travel 'til they're all fed, anyway.]

His younger self... also does the same, prompting a snicker from the older of the two.]
It's good to see you're so eager to help him.
I'm being courteous! You should be happy.
I never said I wasn't.

[He smiles wryly as he follows Akira over to the sink and gets the water running.]
Perhaps I ought to look at getting a proper dishwasher at some point, since I doubt there are any installation fees.
I suppose it wouldn't hurt, now that there's three of us... It would certainly cut down on the time we need to spend working, at any rate.

he hopes they don't think he's stupid for it...no subject
It's okay. I don't mind washing it for you.
[He takes the plate and then adds a little dish soap and starts to scrub.]
It's really just a matter of using soap and water and making sure you rinse thoroughly.
[His younger self follows suit.]
Once we're done, we set the dishes over here to dry.
[He points his head toward a plastic tub to the left of the sink and a shelf just above it... and then he sets his plate down to dry.]

Akira watches closely as the Rock-Akechis clean the plates, wanting to know how it's done best! He's on his tiptoes for it.

Well then. I believe I owe a certain someone a new phone, don't I?
[He beams down at little Akira.]
We could all go on foot, or...
[He crouches down.]
I would gladly carry you on this treacherous journey.
[His younger self raises an eyebrow and watches to see what the little guy will do.]

[Is he not used to the concept? Hm.
His younger self just keep staring.]
Wait. You're offering a piggyback ride?

[He chuckles, scooping up the lil' guy.]
I'll just carry you the old fashioned way.
[The younger of the duo looks up.]
...Enjoy the view, Akira-kun. He's rather tall, after all.

Hmm, I believe our best bet would be to visit one of the electronics stores in Akihabara. That should give us a rather generous selection.
[His younger self remains quiet, but nods along. Akihabara... How often did he even go there? It's been so long...]

[Way to melt his heart, Akira. Goodness, you are bringing out very soft, squishy feelings.
Well, thanks to the truncated distances, it's not long until they reach the shopping district, and from there, the Velvet Room door waits.
The younger Akechi gets it for them.]
Perhaps we can grab a few DVDs while we're there... I wouldn't mind expanding my tokusatsu collection.

The two share a look and a nod, making their way through the Velvet Room door when they finally arrive and maneuvering toward the Tokyo door in short order.
It won't be long until they reach Akihabara, with all its hustle and bustle. Bright lights. So many places to shop. Fortunately, due to time with Futaba, the eldest of the two Akechis is all too familiar with where to find electronics.
As they draw near, he gently pats Akira's head.]
Akira-kun, we're here.

I know, Akira-kun, but it's time to pick your new phone. Once that's done, we can head home, and I can tuck you in, if you'd like.
[His younger self watches, awestruck. He's so good at this? Damn.]
