[EVENT] 'Tis the Spooky Season...

Autumn is drawing on in the Velvet Room and its environs. The days are colder, the nights are crisper, leaves are a riot of colour ready to fall from the trees. And (besides all the pumpkin spice popping up for some reason) that means only one thing: Hallowe'en!

As the season approaches, you may undergo a mysterious transformation. Perhaps you wake up with wings, or hooves, or gills! Or perhaps your transformation will change more, go deeper... perhaps to your very soul. Who can tell? You might wake up as an animal, or a mythological creature. Or as anything at all.

Transformations will reverse on the morning of November 1st. Probably.

In the meantime, Destinyland is celebrating the holiday. Cheerful Jack-o'-Lantern Shadows have set up on street corners, handing out flyers advertising the park's seasonal festivities. In the days leading up to the 31st, Destinyland will host all the usual fun: Hallowe'en games, Trick or Treat for the babies (and the not-so-babey), the Gorb fortune teller, Shadow-run food stalls serving spooky meals and treats, and, of course, the haunted house with its array of friendly, candy-giving Shadows. Or maybe they're not so friendly.

On the night of Hallowe'en itself, there will be a parade at the park and a grand party out in the main square with food, music, and plenty of space, though characters are not obliged to attend. However, if you wish to show off your new form, see what transformations have been wrought on your fellow guests, or simply take the chance to celebrate, it may be a good opportunity...

Who knows? Perhaps you'll even see some special guests.

"You're..." He stares, tail flicking a little and eyes dilating at those wings. Big, fluttering wings. Big, enticing, fluttering wings—

But Ren asked for help, and Ren seems significantly more awkward with all these changes.

"Certainly." He'll just... move over to the cabinet to fetch the cereal and a bowl as an added courtesy. "I'd say I envy your wings, but they look rather cumbersome."

"I don't have opposable thumbs," Ren says, scooting over and hopping off the chair to let Goro through. "I like your ears. And tail."

Curiously, he reaches a talon-covered foot out to stroke the tail. Softly.

"Oh, thank—" He stiffens for a sec when Ren touches his tail, but relaxes after a moment. "This is going to take some getting used to."

Stroke. Ren's talons run down the length of Goro's tail, delicate. "It's not permanent, is it?"

[fogboundcrow]

"No, it's probably just for Halloween." His tail arcs into the touch. "If Yu was here, he'd find it so funny, I'm sure."

Ren's tail feathers shake, and he keeps awkwardly stroking Goro's tail. "He's the one who called you a kitty?"

[fogboundcrow]

"Yes. He compared me to a feral kitten when we first met." Huff. His ears fold back, but the stroking is nice, at least. Relaxing, even.

Ren awkwardly uses a a wing to pat Goro's head.

Oh. That's new. New and... interesting? He leans into the pat and then—

"...wait. Weren't we trying to get you cereal?"

[mountainfoggedlotus]

"Yeah. Or...anything for me to eat. Please."

[fogboundcrow]

"Cereal might be difficult, unless you plan to eat it straight from the bowl... or attempt to maneuver silverware with your talons." Still, he sets the cereal box and bowl on the counter.

"I was going to get some fish from the refrigerator..."

"Fish?" Ren perks up. "I can eat fish."

[fogboundcrow]

"Then fish it is."

Hum de dum. He places the bowl and cereal back, bringing two plates to the counter instead. Then he makes his way over to the fridge, opening it carefully and rifling through the drawers for... aha! Salmon. Delicious salmon.

His mouth waters at the mere sight. It's so tempting to just dig in. His eyes dilate, but... but! He has to share, so... two large pieces of salmon, going right on the plates...

Which he reluctantly brings to the table before climbing into a chair and finally digging in. Nom, nom, nom.

"Iitadakimasu." Ren leans forward and pecks at the salmon.

[fogboundcrow]

"I wonder if it'd be easier with a beak." Either way, his cat-like muzzle makes it a bit simpler, and he resumes his chow time. Mmm, fish. Mm, meat.

Nom, nom, nom.

Yes, he is purring.

Aww...cute. Ren grins.

[fogboundcrow]

...Oh.

Damn it. He drops the fish back on the plate, licking his lips. "...I didn't mean to do that."

[mountainfoggedlotus]

"I didn't say anything," Ren grins, eating some more fish.

[fogboundcrow]

"Yes, well..." Where is he going with this?

...Nom. He'll just eat more. There. Checkmate.

[mountainfoggedlotus]

Ren tries to eat more, too, grinning.

As hungry as he is, it doesn't take long for Raven to clean the meat off the bones, and once he's done, he's purring all over again and licking those kitty lips.

"At least I won't have to worry about eating fish like this." He's less certain about other meals, but they can cross that bridge when they get to it.

"Yeah." A pause. Ren looks down at his salmon, which has a bunch of haphazard bitemarks in it. "Can't say the same for me...how do birds eat fish?"

[fogboundcrow]

"I suppose they peck and pick at it? Not to mention, their bodies are designed to account for the lack of teeth." Still, Ren lacks a beak, so that complicates things. "Would you like me to cut it up? I'd offer some chopsticks, but those might be difficult to use with talons."

[mountainfoggedlotus]

"Yeah..." Ren lets out a sigh. "Iitadakimasu." Somewhat glum, Ren picks the slab of fish in his teeth and tries to throw his head back and-- yep. Well, there it goes. Looks like he can eat like a bird.

A burp bubbles from his mouth. He covers his lips with his feathers. "Scuze me."

"...Well, as long as it's not too uncomfortable." He nibbles a bit more. "I'm still willing to help if you require it for future meals, however."
