Autumn is drawing on in the Velvet Room and its environs. The days are colder, the nights are crisper, leaves are a riot of colour ready to fall from the trees. And (besides all the pumpkin spice popping up for some reason) that means only one thing: Hallowe'en!

As the season approaches, you may undergo a mysterious transformation. Perhaps you wake up with wings, or hooves, or gills! Or perhaps your transformation will change more, go deeper... perhaps to your very soul. Who can tell? You might wake up as an animal, or a mythological creature. Or as anything at all.

Transformations will reverse on the morning of November 1st. ~~Probably.~~

In the meantime, Destinyland is celebrating the holiday. Cheerful Jack-o'-Lantern Shadows have set up on street corners, handing out flyers advertising the park's seasonal festivities. In the days leading up to the 31st, Destinyland will host all the usual fun: Hallowe'en games, Trick or Treat for the babies (and the not-so-babey), the Gorb fortune teller, Shadow-run food stalls serving spooky meals and treats, and, of course, the haunted house with its array of friendly, candy-giving Shadows. Or maybe they're not so friendly.

On the night of Hallowe'en itself, there will be a parade at the park and a grand party out in the main square with food, music, and plenty of space, though characters are not obliged to attend. However, if you wish to show off your new form, see what transformations have been wrought on your fellow guests, or simply take the chance to celebrate, it may be a good opportunity...

Who knows? Perhaps you'll even see some special guests.

If Igor turns this place into some sort of circus he’s going to actually hunt him for sport.
He just scoffs at that and sits down.
“I’m really not seeing the appeal to this place” he haaaates it here. But no need to rant at a child about this, he can rant at someone who isn’t a child like a responsible person.
Or hannei.
He actually growls at the mention of thumbs, or his lack there of. This fucking SUCKS-
“Yeah well I’d rather clogged drains than this. Had to break down the door just to get out of the apartment. Hannei doesn’t have thumbs either!” At least the door will repair itself after a bit, small mercies.
… oh my god how the hell is he supposed to shower will water be bad for him? He’s on fire-
Fuck this place!
He huffs, and a puff of smoke trails out from his nostrils.
“…anyways, I don’t believe we’ve met. You’re… Raven right? Hannei said you were one of the kid me’s here” hopefully he isn’t getting anyone confused, though with this whole situation maybe he can be excused for any confusion.

"Oh, you're from Hannei's world." His face scrunches up for a moment. That does sound inconvenient... and potentially hazardous, given the smoke and fire. "Ren doesn't have opposable thumbs, either. He seems to be some kind of harpy, for better or worse."

He nods, “I got here recently, though if I could avoid this madness maybe I should have hoped to arrive later…” but that’d have left Hannei alone longer and… hm never mind that possibility sounds worse.
“I know code names are needed here because of the… overlap…” And while he hasn’t exactly picked one out… well, Hannei did have a suggestion he didn’t hate.
“So I suppose I’ll be Mockingbird for now” until he thinks of something better at least.

Ok How many people here lost their thumbs for the sake of this Halloween gag??? He just looks unhappy.
“Well, this better not last long then” he grumbles. But looking out at the decorated theme park, well he supposes it’s not all bad.
“At least the festive events seem fun” small victories

"It wouldn't surprise me at all if this was Elizabeth's idea. She seems more... eccentric than Igor, and much more inclined to sow a little chaos." Still, Raven glances at their festive surroundings.

It's not a terrible setup.

"Either way, we might as well make the most of it."

Yeah he doesn’t know who Elizabeth is but if this is his first impression he doesn’t like her all that much already.
“Not much else we can do I suppose” he gets the impression complaining won’t be productive
Might make him feel better but ugh.

“…are events like this common? I’m not sure I like the idea of being turned into things against my will for the forceable future of my stay” friendship prison is one thing, being a fucking DOG IS ANOTHER.

"This is the first Halloween with transformations of this caliber, though there have been parties and festivities in the past."

But this clearly sets a new precedent.

His tail thumps about.

He just shakes his head.
“…I really don’t like this place” he grumbles,
But ok fine unless he wants to complain more better focus on something else… as much as he can anyways.
“Anyways, parties. I did glance around but are there any activities you’d recommend?” He’s still never really gone to a holiday party before… and admittedly while it’s a little ridiculous to be asking some alternate younger version of himself this question he… probably at least has a better frame of reference here.

"We do have an entire theme park at our disposal. You could probably do just about anything, though some of the rides may be trickier to navigate like this..."

Would the dark rides even be safe when this other Akechi has such a flaming motif? Then again, it could purely be cosmetic...

“Yes, unfortunately I doubt most rides accommodate for anything dog shaped” not the roller coasters at least, which leaves the smaller rides.

This sucks.
“I’ll have to visit again later.” He grumbles, like he’s totally not grumpy about not getting to ride a roller coaster.

Okay maybe he is a little.

"You aren't the only one, for whatever it's worth. Ren's body is incredibly bird-like, save for his face, which may limit his ability to enjoy a great many of the rides."

THUMP goes his tail. "Really, why force such extreme anatomical changes and then host the festivities here?"

Well, that doesn’t sound pleasant.
“Perhaps it’s some cosmic joke at our expense” it sure does feel like a joke to him.
If it was for some fun festive event they could have at least been able to choose to undergo a transformation!
Or at least kept him bipedal.
“Well, regardless, I intend to do something during the festivities. Better than wallowing around” he’d really like to go to mememtos but… well he can’t exactly use his phone right now.

"Could try to find walk-in activities? The haunted house should suffice, for instance. Or the dark rides..."

Surely it can't be too hard to get into the boats, even as a quadruped.

“True enough, I might be able to fit in a dark ride car…” it wouldn’t be the most comfortable but it’s better than nothing right?

“… well, all else fails there’s the cognitions that are around, I did hear something about candy being handed out” can’t go wrong with food. Or at least it’s very hard to.

"...Come to think of it, I wonder if our dietary needs have shifted to account for our new forms. I haven't exactly tried any sweets yet, but feline tongues are incapable of tasting certain flavors."

Hrmph. That would be cruel, so close to Halloween. His tail swishes again at the mere thought.

“They better not have. That would be a whole new layer of headache” what the hell do hellhounds even eat anyways?
Probably nothing akechi would willingly want to eat that’s for sure. He scowls, then shakes his head.
“I’m going to assume there’s some cognition in play here, and unless proven otherwise I’d rather assume as long as we believe our diets haven’t changed they won’t” he doesn’t like the uncertainty but what else do you do here?

"Well, we were able to create a healthy cake via cognition. You could potentially weaponize cognition here..." Hmmm. He taps his chin with one paw-hand. There's potential there.

“A healthy… cake?” He actually tilts his head in confusion at that.
That’s- yeah ok sure cognition is weird so sure, yeah, screw it, healthy cake!

He shakes his head. “Well, if cognition can do that then I’m sure keeping our diets normal isn’t to hard”

"Perhaps we need only collectively concentrate. It would be rather inconvenient if my sense of taste was hindered like this, anyway. I am human enough in proportion that I see no reason why I can't enjoy the full breadth of my normal diet."

Also, it's Halloween. He wants to be able to taste sweets, damn it!
