Autumn is drawing on in the Velvet Room and its environs. The days are colder, the nights are crisper, leaves are a riot of colour ready to fall from the trees. And (besides all the pumpkin spice popping up for some reason) that means only one thing: Hallowe'en!

As the season approaches, you may undergo a mysterious transformation. Perhaps you wake up with wings, or hooves, or gills! Or perhaps your transformation will change more, go deeper... perhaps to your very soul. Who can tell? You might wake up as an animal, or a mythological creature. Or as anything at all.

Transformations will reverse on the morning of November 1st. ~~Probably.~~

In the meantime, Destinyland is celebrating the holiday. Cheerful Jack-o'-Lantern Shadows have set up on street corners, handing out flyers advertising the park's seasonal festivities. In the days leading up to the 31st, Destinyland will host all the usual fun: Hallowe'en games, Trick or Treat for the babies (and the not-so-babey), the Gorb fortune teller, Shadow-run food stalls serving spooky meals and treats, and, of course, the haunted house with its array of friendly, candy-giving Shadows. Or maybe they're not so friendly.

On the night of Hallowe'en itself, there will be a parade at the park and a grand party out in the main square with food, music, and plenty of space, though characters are not obliged to attend. However, if you wish to show off your new form, see what transformations have been wrought on your fellow guests, or simply take the chance to celebrate, it may be a good opportunity...

Who knows? Perhaps you'll even see some special guests.

Dove turns when he hears Hannei's voice, taking a step back out of pure instinct to try to avoid getting charged into by the strange wolf-like dog... and yet, the impact never comes. He pauses... before quickly turning around to look at Hannei.

"Hannei-san...? So it seems you've changed forms as well..."

He frowns a bit, walking a little closer to her to make sure she's OK after skidding like that. He can't actually offer her any assistance because he'll just phase through her, but... well.

"Ah, yes. It seems I've become a ghost for one reason or another. It's actually rather inconvenient."

She’s fine! She shakes herself out and sits facing Dove. “I think everyone got turned into something! Which is weird but it’s a little fun” her tail wags, of course she’s more curious than worried about this whole situation.

“Yeah, I can’t imagine being a ghost is fun, akechi-kun had to break the door down since neither of us have thumbs now!” Maybe walking through walls would make some things easier though!

At first he actually blinks at the idea of her Akechi needing to break down the door. Oh no, he must be rather frustrated at this development...

"Ah, that sounds rather irritating. Have the two of you been managing to handle it, at least?"

Soon enough Dove just nods, thinking a bit more on his own situation.

"Walking through walls is a small convenience, though I can't interact with much of anything. At best, I can possess electronics..."

Hannei shrugs, or best she can as a dog. “I’m doing okay. I think akechi-kun wants to kill something, but we can’t really use our phones all that well right now” right, because paws. Phones aren’t paw friendly.
But Hannei doesn’t seem too bothered. “Honestly, I’m kinda having fun! It’s like being rattled but longer!” She apparently is also okay with being a rat.
Weird girl.
Oh! That technology comment sounds interesting.
“Ohhh cool! That sounds fun!” Do you think this whole situation is fun??

Ah, yes, that sounds about right. Dove can imagine a lot of the affected people want to do something along those lines...

On the subject of the phones though...

"Perhaps I can help you both? If you need to send a message or make a call, I may be able to possess your phones and assist with it."

At the very least Hannei is having fun, he guesses? He supposes he can see the appeal, getting into the Halloween spirit... But is it really fun when it's a forced transformation, he wonders?

"I'm glad you're having fun, at the very least. I may not be enjoying my time as a ghost to its fullest, but I'm certainly enjoying the Halloween festivities."

It's nice seeing Destinyland like this. It really does make him feel strangely at home... Nostalgic, even. All those times with his mother, enjoying the holiday events at Destinyland as he was growing up...

For just a moment he forgets himself, forgets it's all a lie.

She notably sits up when dove offers to help with their phone troubles.
“Oh! Yes that’d be really helpful thank you! If you see akechi-kun you should let him know. He definitely wants to tear shadows apart in mementos right now” she can just tell, he’s got that ‘I want to kill something’ look to him.

“It’s a new experience. I always look forward to those” she says that so easily like that explains everything.
Maybe it does.
“Well, I don’t think I can ride all the rides in this form, so we can hang out if you want!” She gives her best grin. “Dogs are known to help with stress relief!” Well, she’s a wolf dog but close enough

"In that case, I'll be sure to let him know the next time I find him. Hopefully he won't be too bothered by the prospect."

He seems rather self-reliant, and Dove doesn't want to step on his toes too much. That said, he clearly does need some sort of help if he's been turned into some sort of hound...

Dove's smile grows a bit larger when Hannei suggests that they hang out together.

"That's an excellent idea. I'd very much enjoy wandering the park with you, Hannei-san."

Just a nice time hanging out with a friend! Even if they can't ride the rides, they can still enjoy the sights, Hannei might be able to eat some of the Halloween-themed food around (So long if it doesn't have chocolate, honestly Dove's worried about the idea of taking the chance), and if they're lucky they'll find a few rides that they can manage to ride.

"Is there anywhere you'd like to go first? We can take turns visiting attractions."

Hannei’s tail ends up wagging even faster somehow. Well clearly she’s happy with this plan.
“Yes!” And in what I can only call a moment of pure puppy joy she jumps up and does excited little tippy taps.
It’s gotta be the wolf dog thing that’s making her more excitable I don’t think even she would act this hyper.
She does a spin and faces Dove again.
“Ok! Um so I was looking around and there’s a few games and stuff we could try. I think I can still play a few with paws, and all else fails there is food” and honestly she isn’t above just cheating a game by stealing a prize and running. She can be excused, she’s a dog right now lol!

"We'll start with some of the games, then. Surely they'll have something we can both enjoy."

With a nod to Hannei, honestly finding the energy a bit adorable, he begins walking along. Let's see, all of the games should be up ahead... He can't help but wonder what's been set up for Halloween in particular, perhaps alongside the usual games Destinyland has.

"Are there any games you usually like to play, Hannei-san?"

She’s all too happy to trot along side Dove, on occasion running ahead, and then running back, she’s got a lot of energy right now.
Must be a dog thing.
“Hm… way games I like to play?” That’s… a good question actually, what does she enjoy playing?
She enjoys playing anything akechi-kun and Alibaba-chan play with her.

“…the only games I can think of require thumbs, I don’t think paws are good for gunabout” she thinks aloud, oof, this is a hard question.
“There’s this dance game I’ve played a few times, mostly because Alibaba-chan wants to play but doesn’t like going alone.” It is fun she supposes.

A dance game, huh...? Dove actually gets a confident smile when he hears that.

"It seems we're rather fortunate in that regard... I believe I can play one of those, given my ability to possess electronics. So we can play it together."

And as a matter of fact, he spots one of the dance machines out of the corner of his eye and his smile grows.

"What do you say? Would you like to give it a shot? I'll refrain from cheating, though I refuse to hold back otherwise."

Oh ohhh she grins at that challenge!
“You’re on! I’ll give it my all!” Four legs be damned she’s gonna okay that dance game!!! She’s quick to dash towards the machine.
Genuenly though, this is probably a good way to figure out her coordination in this form. What better way to test your skills than with a Rhythm game!
