[EVENT] 'Tis the Spooky Season...

Autumn is drawing on in the Velvet Room and its environs. The days are colder, the nights are crisper, leaves are a riot of colour ready to fall from the trees. And (besides all the pumpkin spice popping up for some reason) that means only one thing: Hallowe'en!

As the season approaches, you may undergo a mysterious transformation. Perhaps you wake up with wings, or hooves, or gills! Or perhaps your transformation will change more, go deeper... perhaps to your very soul. Who can tell? You might wake up as an animal, or a mythological creature. Or as anything at all.

Transformations will reverse on the morning of November 1st. Probably.

In the meantime, Destinyland is celebrating the holiday. Cheerful Jack-o'-Lantern Shadows have set up on street corners, handing out flyers advertising the park's seasonal festivities. In the days leading up to the 31st, Destinyland will host all the usual fun: Hallowe'en games, Trick or Treat for the babies (and the not-so-babey), the Gorb fortune teller, Shadow-run food stalls serving spooky meals and treats, and, of course, the haunted house with its array of friendly, candy-giving Shadows. Or maybe they're not so friendly.

On the night of Hallowe'en itself, there will be a parade at the park and a grand party out in the main square with food, music, and plenty of space, though characters are not obliged to attend. However, if you wish to show off your new form, see what transformations have been wrought on your fellow guests, or simply take the chance to celebrate, it may be a good opportunity...

Who knows? Perhaps you'll even see some special guests.

"I don't think it's long enough." He brushes his hands against his... bed head. It's very much your standard Goro bed head. "Though I suppose the excess braids do make sense in hindsight, even if Loki floats."

Hiro frowns. "I'd give you a pair of wings if I could..."

"Hmm...stay here." Ren leaves his boyfriend to rummage through the closet, emerging with a pair of high heels. "Think these could help?"

...Heh. Oh, Ren. A faint smile pulls at Goro's lips, with a tinge of sadness.

He remembers trying to wear his mother's high heels when he was little, just because he was curious.

"I suppose the real question is if they'll fit."

Ren's smile is gentle at his boyfriend's expression. "Lift a foot? We can put stuffing in them..."

"All right." Goro very carefully lifts a foot, but not too much. He doesn't want to fall over again. "Still... I do feel like I'm going to need to take off the training wheels at some point, if only for my pride."

"Pride cometh before the fall," Ren quirks a brow at him. "I can only stop you from eating ass on the pavement so many times."

"Are you suggesting we broaden our horizons?" His smirk sharpens, and he's still at least holding that foot up.

Hiro raises a finger. "That doesn't sound very comfortable."

"I'm suggesting that you get used to your training wheels before you hurt your pride even more. It's not like anyone can tell, anyway." Ren snorts.

"I suppose that's true. I just hope I can get the hang of it soon rather than later." He looks at the other foot. Obviously, he can't lift both at once, but hmm...

"There's always a walking stick or a cane as well," Hiro says. "Really, you shouldn't feel ashamed for utilizing mobility devices."

Ren kisses the back of Goro's head. "Hiro's right, you know."

"I know." Sigh. "I'm just used to being more... put together, for lack of a better word." He looks down. "So, how long am I going to need to hold this foot up, exactly?"

"Until right now." He gives the strange hoof-leg a pat. "Try putting your weight on it?"

"All right." He very tentatively lowers his foot and tries his best to lean into that leg. This probably looks ridiculous...

Ren doesn't notice -- he likes heels, and he likes looking at boyfriend, so. He grins. "Is it any better?"

"Hmm... I think it'll work as a start, although..." He lifts his other foot. "Symmetry is important."

"At least it shouldn't be too difficult to get dressed?" Hiro says from the bed. "Your legs should still fit decently into pants, minus some stretching around the hips."

The attention brought to his legs gives Goro pause, and he looks down. "...I am going to have to figure out other aspects of this change later." Preferably before he has to go to the bathroom.

Ren glances down, too, as he starts to wrap Goro's other foot. "Huh. I thought Loki was more...jumpsuit?"

[fogbornphantom]

"I never truly considered whether or not Loki was clothed. It didn't have any particular applications to me." He flexes his very red, very clawed fingers. "Seems in this case, the stripes are patterned on my body."

Hiro taps his chin. "We can figure it out once we have a little private time to ourselves? I suspect we'll have a busy morning ahead just ensuring that the children are safe and comfortable."

"Hm. We'll have to account for any dietary needs as well..."

As if on cue, there's a knock on their door before a big fist goes through it.

Through the hole, a small face with golden eyes peeks through. "Uhm." Aki-chan's voice squeaks. "Hungy..."

"For souls!" Lucifer cackles behind him.

Aki-chan gives him A Look. "Pankek."

Um. Well, that's one way to start their morning? Both Goro and Hiro stare for a moment.

Then Hiro flashes a smile. "Hello, Lucifer! Hello, Aki-chan!" He makes his way over to the dresser. "I probably won't be able to get a shirt on like this, but pants should still suffice..."

Goro keeps his eyes on the kiddo. "Just give us a moment, Akira-kun. We still need to get dressed."

"Didin ask fer him to punch the dowr," Aki-chan pouts, giving Lucifer another Look. "Didin as fer u eiver."

Lucifer just laughs as they walk away.

"Well. We'll get dressed and see them at breakfast..."

"Assuming I can get into my clothes properly, at any rate." For now, Crow will... sit, because Hiro's already fetching the appropriate clothes.

"Hmm... Hopefully your horns won't cause issues for the turtleneck." Dum de dum, turtleneck, blazer, pants, and boxers, all nicely folded. He brings them over to Goro before grabbing his own underwear and some comfy looking sweats.

Ren starts getting dressed, too, almost as an afterthought, glancing out the hole in their door all the while.

"Maybe we should...explore your new body parts...in the Metaverse."

"I'm sure the door will repair—" Before Goro can even finish, the damaged wood starts mending itself, making little cracking sounds all the while. "...Itself. Though that begs the question as to whether or not Raven's door was affected, too."

The rooms do occupy the same general space. Still, Ren has a point.

"Breakfast first, and then we can use the Nav?" Hiro suggests. "It may provide a safer environment, in case these new forms have any... unusual perks, so to speak."

"Yes." Ren's pupils dilate. "That sounds good."

With Hiro's help, Goro manages to wriggle into his turtleneck. Now for the pants. Hiro holds them so that Goro can very slowly slide his legs through. "Would you like to handle the cooking today? I suspect that even with the heels, I'm not in the best shape to navigate a kitchen."
