[EVENT] 'Tis the Spooky Season...

Autumn is drawing on in the Velvet Room and its environs. The days are colder, the nights are crisper, leaves are a riot of colour ready to fall from the trees. And (besides all the pumpkin spice popping up for some reason) that means only one thing: Hallowe'en!

As the season approaches, you may undergo a mysterious transformation. Perhaps you wake up with wings, or hooves, or gills! Or perhaps your transformation will change more, go deeper... perhaps to your very soul. Who can tell? You might wake up as an animal, or a mythological creature. Or as anything at all.

Transformations will reverse on the morning of November 1st. Probably.

In the meantime, Destinyland is celebrating the holiday. Cheerful Jack-o'-Lantern Shadows have set up on street corners, handing out flyers advertising the park's seasonal festivities. In the days leading up to the 31st, Destinyland will host all the usual fun: Hallowe'en games, Trick or Treat for the babies (and the not-so-babey), the Gorb fortune teller, Shadow-run food stalls serving spooky meals and treats, and, of course, the haunted house with its array of friendly, candy-giving Shadows. Or maybe they're not so friendly.

On the night of Hallowe'en itself, there will be a parade at the park and a grand party out in the main square with food, music, and plenty of space, though characters are not obliged to attend. However, if you wish to show off your new form, see what transformations have been wrought on your fellow guests, or simply take the chance to celebrate, it may be a good opportunity...

Who knows? Perhaps you'll even see some special guests.

"Does this make us mates?" Is that how it works with wolves? Either way, Goro goes along with it, as does Hiro, though he has to turn his head a little to account for his horns, and it takes an extra moment for him to get all his wings folded.

Ren looks confused, then snorts in distaste at mates. He just said hi! To his Special Friends! Either way, he keeps nudging them forward.

Once they're all in the den, Ren jumps onto the bed and makes sure to thoroughly check it for Bad Things by stamping his paws around! Circlecirclecircle, get all the Bad Things Out for Maximum Comfort...stampstampstamp...

...and then finally, floomph. Ren drops and curls up on the bed and has a biiiiig strecth. He is their pillow tonight, by the way, and they can put their heads on his side. He Is Around Them. Come. Sleep.

It's so surreal seeing Ren act so dog-like. If anything, Goro always likened him more to a friendly cat, but this... this is adorable, and he can't help but slowly make his way over, arms spread just to better keep balance. Hiro moves close behind, though he doesn't get in just yet.

"Shall I fetch a blanket?"

Ren snuffles and wiggles, thumping his tail as Special Friends approach.

"You're our loyal protector." Here, just let Hiro grab one of the blankets to drape over Goro before he finally crawls in.

...But not without giving a little kiss to Ren's fluffy cheek.

Another thump as Ren gets comfortable again, nuzzling both of the Special Friends into him, making sure their blanket is nice and good. Sleeptime...his breaths go deep and even.

"We love you, Ren." Goro stretches, then shuts his eyes, careful to position his head so his horns don't jab too much. Hiro lies on his back to accommodate for his more horizontal horns.

"Sleep tight."

They're certain to have... interesting things to discuss in the morning.

[ ooc // Ren is now like half human half woof ]

...Yeah, yeah they do. Ren wakes up with a really, really, really bad taste in his mouth. And why the fuck is he...vertically spooning? His very pointy boyfriends?

"Ack."

Oh. Goro stirs, as the lack of fur against him makes the situation all too clear. "...Back to normal, I see." Or maybe not? His eyes slowly open and... huh. No, not entirely.

Hiro snuggles up to Goro, not quite ready to wake up yet. His wings wrap around him. Warm. His.

"Back to normal?"

"...Do you not remember anything that happened last night? You turned into a giant wolf."

Hiro yawns, consciousness slowly taking hold. "...Ren?"

[unfoggedlotus]

"I did what."

[fogbornphantom]

"You were a very good boy." Goro tries not to laugh, but he can't help it.

Only then does it seem to down on Hiro what's going on, and his eyes pop wide open. "Oh. Good morning."

[unfoggedlotus]

Oh! He's a good boy! He perks up, tail starting to thump.

...Wait. Tail?

He looks behind him. There is now a large, furry thing coming from his tailbone.

"Oh my god. I'm a furry."

[fogbornphantom]

"Hmm... Well, to be fair, so are Raven and Wagtail." Goro slooowly sits up and turns to get a better look at Ren.

Well, he tries, anyway. Hiro's wings make it a bit awkward, until Hiro seems to realize this and unfolds them.

Ren looks down at his hands -- thankfully, still hands. "What...happened?"

[fogbornphantom]

"You were extremely excited to see us," Hiro says. "And you gave a traditional wolf greeting to each of us, tongue included, before nudging us into bed and cuddling."

Ooh, are those wolf ears? Hiro reaches a tentative hand behind one to scritch.

Goro, meanwhile, leans back on his hands. "You also brought Raven some fish and water and then carried him like a puppy into your younger self's room."

[unfoggedlotus]

"Traditional wolf greetin..." Ren trails off as Hiro scritches behind his ear. Ooh, that's good. He leans into it, putting his whole weight into the lean.

[fogbornphantom]

"He means you stuck your tongue in our mouths to say hello." Goro smirks, then reaches behind the other ear. Perhaps the claws will feel nice?

[unfoggedlotus]

Yeah, that's even better. Nuzzle into the clawsies... "I didn't know wolves did that."

[fogbornphantom]

"They do. It's a common greeting, really." Scritch, scritch... Enjoy the claws, Ren.

[unfoggedlotus]

He is! Enjoying the claws. "Ahuh...I didn't do it to anyone else, right?"

"If you did, I wouldn't know." Scritch, scritch...

Hiro can't help but snicker. "Imagine if you did it to Magpie..."

"Oh, god." Oh, god. "I hope I didn't. I still have a tongue, right? He didn't rip it out of my mouth?"

"You're still speaking, aren't you?" Goro leans in, cupping Ren's cheek in his hand. "It's all right, Ren."
