[EVENT] 'Tis the Spooky Season...

Autumn is drawing on in the Velvet Room and its environs. The days are colder, the nights are crisper, leaves are a riot of colour ready to fall from the trees. And (besides all the pumpkin spice popping up for some reason) that means only one thing: Hallowe'en!

As the season approaches, you may undergo a mysterious transformation. Perhaps you wake up with wings, or hooves, or gills! Or perhaps your transformation will change more, go deeper... perhaps to your very soul. Who can tell? You might wake up as an animal, or a mythological creature. Or as anything at all.

Transformations will reverse on the morning of November 1st. Probably.

In the meantime, Destinyland is celebrating the holiday. Cheerful Jack-o'-Lantern Shadows have set up on street corners, handing out flyers advertising the park's seasonal festivities. In the days leading up to the 31st, Destinyland will host all the usual fun: Hallowe'en games, Trick or Treat for the babies (and the not-so-babey), the Gorb fortune teller, Shadow-run food stalls serving spooky meals and treats, and, of course, the haunted house with its array of friendly, candy-giving Shadows. Or maybe they're not so friendly.

On the night of Hallowe'en itself, there will be a parade at the park and a grand party out in the main square with food, music, and plenty of space, though characters are not obliged to attend. However, if you wish to show off your new form, see what transformations have been wrought on your fellow guests, or simply take the chance to celebrate, it may be a good opportunity...

Who knows? Perhaps you'll even see some special guests.

It isn't long before Dove sees Akira, quickly making his way over to him with a smile.

"Akira! It's nice to see you here, though I wouldn't have expected it under these circumstances."

He can't do much to emphasize it, unfortunately, gives his own state, but at the very least his is glad to see his friend here.

"How are you faring? I know some people have been handling their transformations better than others. I hope it hasn't been too much trouble for you."

"Well, I can't say it's as drastic as yours looks!" He calls with a chuckle through the grates. "The antlers are...interesting, at least."

Dove notes that Akira remains outside the gates, but doesn't comment on it. Instead, he just closes the gap for the moment, leaving only a handful of feet between them.

"Ah, becoming a spirit is a rather drastic shift, isn't it? It has its share of frustrations as well, considering my inability to interact with much of anything."

But he says this in good humor, his eyes shifting to look at Akira's antlers. He puts his fingers to his chin, his ethereal form remaining see-through and wispy.

"I think they look rather nice, personally. Though I must admit, the antlers certainly add a layer of difficulty to discerning what you have become."

Akira's never seen Dove smile like that...he smiles, too, feeling lighter. "I wish it was as easy as just...deer-person."

He raises his left hand. There's a band of burned flesh in the shape of a doorhandle seared into his skin. "Never knew how much stuff was made of iron here."

Oh dear, that's... That's certainly not good. To have gotten a burn like that, that can only mean...

"A form of faerie, then...? If iron burns you in such a fashion..."

His eyes shift to the side, eying the gates. Ah, that would explain why he hasn't stepped in yet... That's very unfortunate. Very, very unfortunate. Akira shouldn't have to miss out on the festivities because of this transformation, that's for sure.

"...I see the gates are certainly a problem."

So what can be done...? He's not certain there's anything he can do, but he can't just give up on it. He doesn't want Akira to have to be left out... Though if Akira wants to hang out somewhere else, he's also up to that.

"We could attempt to find another entrance to the park, if you'd like. Or perhaps, if an amusement park isn't to your liking, we could always spend time elsewhere."

Akira perks up. "Got it in one," he claps. "I was thinking...wanna help me find an alternate entrance?"

Dove's smile settles, growing into the faintest look of a smirk. Almost there, so close to being one, and yet not quite.

"Of course, I'd be glad to help you with that. They must certainly have another entrance, given how large the park is and the necessity for emergency exits..."

With that, Dove steps past the gate and onto Akira's side of it, and begins taking a look at how far the gates particularly go. Perhaps they could go around the park, or... Hmm. Above could be a last resort, should they find suitable means to get Akira over it safely...? But that would mean risking him touching an iron fence, which certainly isn't good...

"Well, I suppose we should begin by scouting along the outside, then. There may be alternate paths along the other sides of the park."

So Dove begins walking along, although... really he doesn't have to be restricted to the sidewalk, he could just walk through the walls if he wanted.

Akira walks along the edge, keeping a fair distance from the iron. "I'm feeling compelled to enter since I was invited...but the iron's in my way." He flicks his cards between his hands.
