Ren was up doing some cleaning when the Midnight Channel dropped. It was quite bizarre, as if it was some low-budget tv show. But what's more disturbing is that, going by what little he knows about the TV World, it means that not one, but two Akechis are in danger.

He doesn't know either of them well, and he's pretty sure the first one is that robot Akechi he's heard about.

"Looks like trouble has come up again a lot sooner than expected."

At least it's not some evil kid this time. He's definitely gonna help where he can.

Shiho had been starting to get ready for bed when she caught the Midnight Channel. She has heard about it, but it's the first time seeing it. Aside from the fact that it looks like some low-budget TV show, it's disturbing.

"What the...?"

Once both shows are over, she's stunned. It's pretty clear that not one, but two Akechis are in danger.

"This is bad." But a part of her is also excited 'cause she's been dying for some real action after being here for so long.

She couldn't help with Evil Ken because she knew she wasn't strong enough to help. But this time, there's no way she was gonna skip this. She might seriously lose it if she isn't allowed to help.

Well now she's fully awake. So much for sleep.

Lyssi has been wandering for a long time now, and is currently in Tokyo. He's been searching far and wide throughout the Velvet Room, trying to find Falcon in a haste.

He disappeared from the house, suddenly. Not a word. He's been acting different, but for him to leave suddenly like this... It's clear that something is wrong.

Not only that, but... when he sends pings out to try to determine Falcon's location, there's nothing. No response. It's as if he's never even been in the Velvet Room... and that is illogical.

"Falcon-senpai. Falcon-senpai! Please respond. Please respond!"

Lyssi's internal clock blinks from 11:59 PM to 12 AM just as he passes an electronics store... but he stops as he registers the sound of the broadcast begin behind him.

"...?"

He can't help but quietly approach the screen, watching and listening carefully, recording every second with those eyes of his. Taking it in, but not quite understanding what it means.

But he knows one thing for certain. The unusual timing, the context of certain things in the strange broadcast... It has to be related to...

"...Falcon-senpai...?"

...He needs to find Falcon. Immediately.

Goddammit, where's Rise when you need her.

Dunno if that broadcast worked outside of Inaba or not, but if it didn't, we got two people stuck in the TV world right now. (Or maybe three? But it looked like two of 'em were basically the same entity.)
[In a way, Kanji's glad it finally just happened, instead of being a lingering warning indefinitely.]

We could use someone with navi skills to figure out where their dungeons spawned, and at least two groups of people (with navi if we can) for the rescue mission. Usually it's just random Shadows and a miniboss or two along the way, but who knows if these things will want to do some kind of 'look at my tragic backstory' thing.

Once you get to the person you're gonna have to deal with their Shadow. It's gonna spill a bunch of nasty shit and buried insecurities and basically be awful for everybody involved. The person you're trying to rescue will, most likely, want to reject it. (Especially that first one-or-two, feels too much like Naoto for me to think they're getting out of that cleanly.)

The Shadow will go into full monster mode, and you will have to fight it, and it will probably suck. Then you gotta hope the person's calmed down enough to accept it and get their Persona (back?). Place won't fall down around your ears once you're done, at least.

Most important: We're on a deadline. Not that this place tends to have much weather, but it will now, because that's how the Midnight Channel works. Keep an eye on the forecast. When we hit three or so days of rain in a row, we're almost out of time. That means a foggy night's coming, and after that... well, I guess here they'd respawn in the Velvet Room, but still. Let's not test that too hard.

Thanks for the run-down and the defined time limit. I'm keen on hopping in the moment we find where they are so we don't have to crunch a time limit.

I don't have navigational skills with any of my Personas, but I can definitely be a part of safely getting a group through for the fight. I'll start stocking up now.

Are there on-foot ways to track down where these two might be? I can help there, too.

You are speaking about the unusual broadcast that occurred at midnight. I saw it while searching for Falcon-senpai in the Akihabara area of Tokyo.

He left our home in Inaba without any prior notification, and did not return. According to this post, you are saying that Falcon-senpai is in the TV World, and that he is in danger. We need to find him before the fog appears within Inaba, and we must confront his Shadow(s).

Not only that, but you are stating there is another civilian in the TV World, and as such they are another civilian that must be rescued from their Shadow(s).

This is an imperative and high priority operation that cannot afford to be ignored. I will volunteer. I am an Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon. My Persona, Nemo, specializes in physical attacks and weakening enemies. I can also shoot bullets.

Please allow me to join you. I want to help Falcon-senpai.

I agree that we shouldn't test them coming back too hard. Respwanning in the Velvet Room is not fun. Plus what if they end up back in the TV World and then it creates a cycle of them dying then coming back and back again?

I don't have any navi skills, but I am a wildcard. I'll help out.

[Granted he doesn't know either Akechis well, but like hell he's gonna sit back and not help.]
aknightnotaprincess: (angry)

[personal profile] aknightnotaprincess 2025-03-22 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
So basically much less complicated than palaces. Good to know we don't need to be ready to book it because of the place collapsing.

Not a navi, but I want to help. Even if I don't know either of those Akechis very well, I'll do what I can to help rescue them.

[Plus she's just itching for some real action after more than a year of going into Mementos alone.]

[personal profile] wicked_plan 2025-03-22 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Well fuck. Good to hear at least we won't have to make a quick escape...?

Still, I agree we can't leave them in there for too long. I only caught the tail end of the latter, but that looked dangerous. I'm not too familiar with either of them, but count me in. If this is anything like Futaba's Palace we can't leave them to suffer.
very_elaborate: (tch. boring.)

[personal profile] very_elaborate 2025-03-22 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Dunno. We never tried - it was too foggy in there to bother. I haven't been in this one yet to see if it's still that bad visibility-wise.

We should have a couple weeks, three tops, before the weather turns bad.

The more the merrier. Or something like that, anyway. I don't know either of 'em, but that never stopped us before.

[If it had, Kanji would be dead.]
very_elaborate: (headscratch)

[personal profile] very_elaborate 2025-03-22 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, let's not test it. Sounds like a good way to get someone permanently sick - the fog's usually not a problem during this phase and less of one after you get a Persona, but it's still not great.

[personal profile] very_elaborate 2025-03-22 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know 'em either, but that never stopped us before. If it had, I'd be dead.

The real trick is the time limit. We should at least have a couple weeks before it gets bad, but still better to bust these things out ASAP.

We can't leave 'em to suffer either way. This shit's not easy to deal with, and they won't be happy that other people are gonna see it.
aknightnotaprincess: (neutral)

[personal profile] aknightnotaprincess 2025-03-22 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
We've had time limits too, so it's not that unusual.

Anything we should bring to prepare?
vampirethief: (thinking)

[personal profile] vampirethief 2025-03-22 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Even if it's not too bad for now, it sounds like it could become a problem.]

Should we bring face masks in that case?
very_elaborate: (Default)

[personal profile] very_elaborate 2025-03-22 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Think there's a stand of TV glasses in Junes. Grab yourself a pair, either now or before everyone heads in. If the fog's bad in there, you'll need them to see.

Dunno how that'll work for the 'rip off a mask' folks, but it's better to be prepared.
wipingallout: (The cards know)

[personal profile] wipingallout 2025-03-22 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Got it, so they'd only be able to be found in the TV world.

[If it were something like the Shadows out during the Dark Hour, they could at least spread out and look on foot, but with fog and a cognitive world being the obstacle...]

I might ask someone to help us pinpoint it, even if he likely won't want to or be able to be involved in the actual exploration.
aknightnotaprincess: (neutral)

[personal profile] aknightnotaprincess 2025-03-22 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll grab a pair just in case.

[Granted it might not matter if the masks act like the glasses, but better safe than sorry.]
very_elaborate: (Default)

[personal profile] very_elaborate 2025-03-22 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
If it makes you feel better. We never bothered, and we were mostly exhausted as shit for the night but that was it. Little longer after being rescued.
very_elaborate: (headscratch)

[personal profile] very_elaborate 2025-03-22 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
This place is small enough that people oughta know some stuff about the people who went missing, which was always the biggest hurdle to actually getting into a dungeon.
vampirethief: (thinking)

[personal profile] vampirethief 2025-03-22 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds pretty familiar. Going through palaces and Mementos, as well as awakening personas, can be really exhausting too.
