It's in the wee hours of the morning that all residents of the Velvet Room receive a message on their phones.

Good morning.

In the interest of strengthening community bonds and preventing further vandalism on what was intended as a community board, I have elected to expand the capabilities of your communications within this realm.

Every device with network capabilities may now access a specialized social network designed for your convenience.

I have been told there is a similar application in reality, but for our purposes, you may call it Flutter.

Fortunately, it is closer to what you may consider a forum or a blogging apparatus. A limited character count would undoubtedly provoke misunderstandings. Someone could state that they enjoy pancakes, and others may assume they despise waffles.

[ooc: Congratulations! You have unlocked a network. Its functions are about on par with most networks in DWRP. You can do text posts, audio posts, insert videos if the device has a camera (e.g. phones or a computer with a webcam).

The difference between network posts and IC inboxes is primarily that network posts are accessible to any character. When posting, you can clarify a post is network via post prompt or in the post title. Posts can include action and network prompts as well!]

I'd argue that bringing you to a safe space where you can connect with others and effectively act freely is more of a vacation than true imprisonment.

I also question the one who put you in such a precarious predicament. Such a naughty little thing, taking advantage of your grief and agony.

A "vacation" in a confined space, for an indeterminate term, and with exit conditions unilaterally set by the "host", is no more than a gilded cage.

Then again, it is expected of tyranny to play with semantics in order to control people's thoughts.

The one who seeks control is a gaudy cup in the future who takes the form of my master and is incredibly rude to his "guests."

If anything, we've asserted very little authority over these past few months. We even let one of the Amamiyas blow up Shinjuku! I'm obligated to say that it's not encouraged, but personally I don't have any qualms with how our guests unleash their pent up rage so long as the only collateral is short-lived.

But your plan... Obviously, it comes from a place of pain, but you really should consider healthier alternatives. Malevolent beings that prey upon vulnerable children are not only tacky but certainly don't have your best interests at heart, no matter how much they pretend to.

You seem like a smart boy. I'm sure you can find a more liberating path.

I could argue that your pursuit of this particular plan is much too simple and doesn't give the rest of the world its fair shake.

In fact, I believe I will.

The world is full of nasty people, and plenty have given up hope, but don't you think it's rather bold to assume that there are no bright spots worth protecting? This "ally" of yours likely doesn't really care for your feelings. It just sees an outlet worth exploiting.

That's typically how it goes. Nyarlathotep, Nyx, Kagutsuchi, Mikuratana-no-Kami, Yaldabaoth, and perhaps other such entities in between have more or less singled out people with a particular motive that more often than not takes the burdened and "broken" and preys on their anguish.

Even Izanami believed she understood humanity's true desires, but she was challenged and surpassed in the end.

[In most timelines, but that goes unsaid, as it seems rather counterintuitive to her points. Really, those timelines are just so unfortunate... Stones left unturned, poor choices made.

Then again, even Makoto is guilty of this in some realities.]

The "bright spots" end up getting absorbed by the ambient darkness, sooner or later. They always do.

It's been thousands of years that extremely smart and well-intentioned people have tried to make the world a better place. They all failed. Improving the world seems beyond our means... there's only one thing that such a world deserves. I won't allow it to harm and destroy the little good left any longer.

And you think destroying everything is somehow better? My, my. I don't believe you've really thought this through.

Wounds heal. Progress has been made, however incremental. This is why I think this "Fate" is such a duplicitous snake.

I don't believe there's any true attachment to you, beyond making you a means to an end. It likely wants to isolate you so you don't get second thoughts because that's counterintuitive to its goals.

You've already made genuine connections here. I believe there's hope for you yet.

What I want doesn't matter. It is a simple question of justice. The world doesn't deserve to exist, so it shouldn't. Simple as that. I do not want the good destroyed, but it is already being destroyed. What am I supposed to do? Separate the good from the bad, and destroy only the bad? How megalomaniacal. The only fair method is indiscriminate, anything else is delusional.

And please spare me your "incremental progress". History repeats itself. Whatever good is promoted is only a facade for the same evil to better disguise itself. This world is still as rotten as ever, as I have experienced first-hand.

I am also not sure what you are trying to do there. I am already aware that Fate doesn't care about me. But we are one now.

You're ten years old. Your life is only just beginning, and I don't believe you've grown enough to speak in absolutes.

But it's not that I'm without my sympathies. Loss is such a terrible thing, and yours is perhaps the most tragic form of loss. It isn't fair that you endured so much strife, only to have your life co-opted by such malevolence.

Then again, my sister would say that the heart is often shaken more by a single action than a thousand words, so perhaps I should leave the rest to a certain someone who seems rather adamant about supporting you.
