(Network) About Igor-san...
I've had a question I've been meaning to ask about him for some time now, but I was too nervous to ask... but I'm going to now!
Why does his voice sound so different? Is it just me? It's so strange, it's almost like he's a different person...
Truth be told, I don't really know much about Igor-san, but it strikes me as kind of odd...
Not that it's necessarily a bad thing of course! It just stood out to me. Perhaps the Igor-san in my world is different somehow?

I can't speak for anyone else, but the Igor-san at home has a deeper voice. The one here sounds more welcoming, as well. I feel... kind of looked down on by the one back home at times.

(And she's one of the pawns...)

(Oh dear, now she seems upset.)

The one here seems more polite, too. It's hard to explain, but something about the way they talk is entirely different.

Sounds like this Igor guy is in a cognitive jail or something.

Well that's different. There isn't a prison aesthetic for her Velvet Room.

I have to agree. It could potentially put you in even more danger, or them.

If there's a more subtle route to prod them toward seeing the truth on their own, that might be a good course of action. It'll take longer, but it'll be more organic.

I'm sorry to say that the man you've met is not Igor at all, but rather a malevolent entity born of humanity's desires named Yaldabaoth. He invaded the Velvet Room, drove out or imprisoned its defenders, enslaved those he didn't, and turned its abilities towards the end of bringing about his own apotheosis.
If there is an opposite number for you, a Persona-user who might have been a Wild Card but now lacks that power, it's likely that person has been used and manipulated by him in order to rig the game against humanity.
He is also what lurks at the bottom of Mementos, encouraging humanity's worst impulses and feasting like a tick upon them.
Do not trust him under any circumstances.

I don't quite understand, but at the same time it would explain some things... Caroline and Justine's struggles with their memory... The way he keeps pressuring me...
But what's this about another potential Wild Card? Are you saying that there's another enemy to worry about? And what's this 'game'?

Caroline and Justine... they are both a half of my sister, Lavenza. He did something to her that caused her being to fracture, only barely surviving and forgetting entirely who she was, which I suspect he did because he still needed an Attendant to make use of the Velvet Room's capabilities.

Is there a chance that there might be overlap with the Red Eye or the Black Mask? Could they be the other agent?
And for that to happen to your sister... I'm sorry. I'll do what I can to help them remember the truth, and reunite them!

Would you consider giving people the ability to trap others inside cognitive jails the sort of thing this imposter would be capable of?
We found an offshoot of the Velvet Room and a couple of attendants willing to help us, but we're not exactly dealing with the typical circumstances. We do have access to Mementos, though.

I would say that it certainly seems like his modus operandi to do something like that, but given the disparities between timelines, it's difficult to predict exactly what lies in store for you.
no subject
I wasn't expecting exact predictions, but thank you. It's a data point, and that's something we can build from.
no subject
Maybe it's better not to learn the full truth...
no subject
Is your world's Igor-san similar, then?

I've learned a lot since coming here, but I don't think I'm ready yet.
