(Open) An Attempt at Reconnection
Across Tokyo, a certain duo can be found doing various different things...
Dove walks alongside Jinx (His world's Ren) with a smile, turning to him with a somewhat curious look on his face. Jinx eyes him slightly from the side, not turning his head yet.
After all, it all feels so... so wrong, Dove smiling at him like that and it being entirely sincere. He had grown accustomed to and respected the Akechi he came to know before the world had changed. Even after everything that happened, he still can't believe he's gone...
...No. He can't think like that. He promised he would try to help him regain his memory. He has to try, even if he has his doubts. He wants to see the old Akechi again, and... he wants to know if he's right. If their world really can be fixed.
Soon enough, Dove speaks up, snapping Jinx out of his thoughts.
"Well, where do you have in mind for our first destination?"
Oh. Right. Where to go first. Let's see...
--
Option 1: Jinx takes Dove to the first place that comes to mind... that being Penguin Sniper over in Kichijoji. It's a simple choice of location, being they bonded a fair amount over playing pool there. Dove finds himself approaching the pool table, gently placing a hand on it as he turns to face Jinx.
"...I vaguely remember this. I switched hands after I got a break ace."
Jinx blinks at that, rubbing the back of his head a bit. So... he really does remember some things? That's... good. He thinks? Or maybe it's bad, he's not even sure anymore...
"Yeah. I noticed because we shook hands before. At the TV station."
Dove pauses, raising a finger to his chin in thought.
"...The TV Station... It was where we first met, I believe... I don't remember you there, but..."
For now the two are just standing there, taking up space. Not playing a game or anything. The air is awkward and tense.
Option 2: The aquarium is the next place to visit, as Jinx decides that visiting Jazz Jin will be later in the evening. Dove finds himself looking up at the variety of sea life with a quiet respect as Jinx begins speaking again.
"You remember anything?"
Dove shakes his head, turning to look back at Jinx.
"No, I can't say I recall anything... What happened here?"
Jinx can't help but be a little disappointed, but... well, he can't expect Dove to remember everything. If he did, then they wouldn't be here at all, most likely.
"You invited me here. Said you got tickets from a co-worker. We... ran into a friend of mine."
Dove pauses, trying to think back on it. He's trying to dig deep into his memories, through the headache that's arising.
"...I..."
The air between them is incredibly awkward as Jinx averts his eyes as Akechi tries to think.

interacting in option 2 (2/2)
In truth? He was too free to care about the fact that he ended up stalking their date. Old habits die hard alas but really a part of him was drawn to watching another one of him in action where he can't predict what he must be doing next. This was different. This was unique.
"Puhhhh" he groans as one of his brow twitches, mostly trying to focus on the fish who's mouth is apparently stuck to the exhibit's glass but it mostly goes back to the two now talking amongst themselves. He sips on a cold drink, not even finding a good setting for a possible photograph using the same camera hanging off his neck to his dark shades reflecting blue. Nope. He can't do this anymore. He's crashing into this date.
"Was the friend a reporter going by the name Ohya??" he starts as he releases the straw of his Coke and looks at either of them. There's a grin on his face, making his sunglasses look more mischievious and strange for someone like him.
"Sorry for crashing into...the date? A bit unsure actually- feel free to correct me," he raises his other hand and waves at the Akechi. "Hey, Dove-!"
no subject
"...Yeah, right on the money. You had a similar encounter here, or..."
Dove, meanwhile, looks a little surprised. Perhaps because he was too caught up in his own thoughts than paying attention to what was around him. After all, he is focusing so much of his mental effort on remembering...
"Ah, Akira-san. Apologies, I didn't see you-- I beg your pardon?"
Both of them screech to a halt, eyes widening as they process the idea of this being a date... and they both react differently.
Jinx just looks away, looking strangely dejected while Dove... well, for a second you could almost swear his eyes widened a bit more before he regains himself, and quickly puts on a smile.
He chuckles, and...
"Ahaha, no, not quite. We're just two acquaintances spending time together. Isn't that right, Amamiya-san?"
He looks to Ren, smiling at him, and... Jinx slightly turns back to face him. He struggles to meet his eyes, but all the same he gives a small nod.
"Acquaintances... That's the gist of it."
no subject
But lo and behold, it seemed these two had a completely different story. He raises a brow as he watches his other him outright deflate while Akechi looks at him like he just swallowed a cactus. "Sorry about assuming then." Okay, nevermind then. Guess he isn't third wheeling here after all.
He still knows what they had discussed in their previous conversation so he knows there's more to this.
"Coooool," he says not sounding convinced at all. "I go by the name Kira by the way- no need for honorifics like I mentioned to some people before," he adds as he glances at Ren. "You are...a Ren?"
"Damn you got all the pretty features...like looking at a mirror," he jokes as he grips his own chin with his index and thumb. "You like Arginades? Strawberry milkshakes?"
no subject
"Yeah. Ren Amamiya. I take it you're an Akira then?"
But then he goes on to describe Jinx's features and asking him about things he likes, which causes him to blink... and get a sweat drop.
"I... guess? I don't know, strawberry's fine...?"
He doesn't seem super decisive on that as he rubs the back of his head and looks away. He seems a bit bothered by something, unable to keep eye contact...
Dove can't help but glance at Jinx from the side, worriedly... before looking back at Kira with a smile.
"It's been quite some time since I've a milkshake of any sort... Perhaps it would be a good idea to treat ourselves to some? It'd certainly lift our spirits, not to mention we haven't had lunch or anything yet."
no subject
His expression does fall a little at the mention of strawberry milkshake being just fine. "Damn...thought we would have similar interests somewhere atleast." Awkwardly, he watches the Ren look away from him as his brows scrunch together. "They are pretty good...really."
He's curious about what this Ren went through.
Dove takes away his attention as he perks up. "Hm, speak for yourselves- I did get a light lunch in...Shinjuku (a lie)." He pauses as he remembers the little post written by dove about pancakes.
Hm.
"It was pancakes so I will just get a starter or something with you guys." He says, rather subtly as he looks between Dove and Ren.
Very innocently.
