Something about delicious pancakes?

Is there something in particular about pancakes? I've been told it's an 'inside joke' of sorts, but I seem to be out of the loop. Could someone enlighten me on this?

I mean I do enjoy them, but I wouldn't go as far as to say they're my favorite food or such. I'm not even certain I have a favorite food.

It just seems so strange, as though I should know, and yet I have no idea in the slightest what this could be referring to.

Any clarification would be helpful.

It's true that the Black Mask-- most likely himself, that is, went against Ren and the Phantom Thieves and worked for Shido, but... was there a particular encounter of sorts that led to Ren's life being in danger?

What could it have been...?
