Something about delicious pancakes?

Is there something in particular about pancakes? I've been told it's an 'inside joke' of sorts, but I seem to be out of the loop. Could someone enlighten me on this?

I mean I do enjoy them, but I wouldn't go as far as to say they're my favorite food or such. I'm not even certain I have a favorite food.

It just seems so strange, as though I should know, and yet I have no idea in the slightest what this could be referring to.

Any clarification would be helpful.

Perhaps not, but it felt wrong of me to withhold the information after that. Besides, as I said, this mystery seems to be one that's important to you... just as the mystery I was pursuing was for me.

So in a sense, I still believe we're even.
