[EVENT] Memory Tapes
On the morning of November 21st, denizens in the Velvet Room will awake to a message on their phones or by their bedsides in an envelope. Perhaps even on their computer screens.
Greetings! If you've received this message, then you've been selected as a participant in a new activity to strengthen bonds within this community.
In order to facilitate connections with your fellow residents, we advise you to watch this video. Watch it and return the tape to its rightful owner. If you lacked the means to watch VHS tapes before, we have provided you with the necessary equipment.
Failure to do so may put your own memories at risk. Do not be selfish, lest you find yourself struggling to recall crucial moments of your life. You have no way of knowing which memories have been shared, so ask yourself if it is worth the risk to selfishly hoard another's secrets.
They will soon find a VHS tape, with a case that gives off a soft, blue glow to symbolize its importance. If they lack a TV or VCR, they will find one in their living space.
What they do is up to them, but they should heed the warning, if they value their own memories.
[For links to characters' memories, please see this post in the OOC comm. Have fun!]

Got a message about tapes, and ended up with one. I'm not sure what to think of this latest stunt by the Velvet Room.
Crow, I have yours and I took a look at it. Sorry for the invasion of privacy.
Mementos
She eventually decides to do her usual training in Mementos. So if one were to show up there, they might see her either slicing through shadows with her sword, or summoning her persona to kill shadows. And given how rough she's being, she's clearly not in a great mood.
Can Haz Tapes?
Either contact Shiho, or meet up with her to discuss tapes.

If nothing else, we have a relatively straightforward exchange.

Should I head over, or do you wanna stop at my place?

[After getting directions from Crow, she shows up at his house with the tape.]
Hi, I got the tape.
[She heads inside and looks around.]
So what memory did you see of mine?
no subject
It was your awakening.
[He grimaces at the memory.]
Seeing it was... I wouldn't say it was surprising, where Kamoshida is concerned, but that by no means diminishes the rage I felt simply by witnessing it secondhand. I am glad that you found the strength to fight back, however.
CW: Rape and suicide mention
I felt so angry at the time. Angry at Kamoshida for raping Ann and causing her to try to kill herself, angry at Ann for not telling me how bad things really were with him, and myself for being blind and focusing on my own problems, that I had no idea that Ann was in so much pain.
To tell the truth, when we defeated Shadow Kamoshida during the heist, I came real close to killing him. The others convinced me that it would be better to let him live, and thinking on it, death would have been too good for him. He needed to suffer the guilt and consequences of all he's done. I don't regret sparing him.
[She sighs.] At least I didn't see what that one asshole wrote on the Phan-site who recorded the jump and tried to request the Phantom Thieves to change her heart. Mishima caught it while I was in the hospital and deleted it. Even leaving a message as admin not to victim blame and post graphic content on the site.
[She would have felt even worse than she was already feeling.]
By the way, on your tape, I saw you lose your shit on Shadow Kamoshida and that awful cognition of Ann. Frankly, your reaction was one hundred percent justified. Bastard had the gall to send it out while we were fighting him.

[It's more personal for her, obviously. She and Ann share a history, after all. The rest of Shiho's account also aligns quite well with his own observed experiences, but—
He bristles at the mention of the Phan-site.]
...That utter lack of compassion for a victim suggests to me that they deserved a change of heart.
[But... hmm. That memory of his isn't the worst for her to witness, even if it's certainly uncomfortable.
He slowly relaxes.]
The downside is that the Palace's security level reached one hundred percent as a result, not to mention my departure from the Metaverse left me incredibly fatigued. Drained, you could say.
no subject
[She calms down herself and listens.]
Yeah it can be draining, though it was only the day of my awakening was the worst for me.
[Unless one were to count emotional draining. In which case, Futaba's palace takes the cake.]
no subject
[He folds his arms, sighing through his nose.]
Based on what I know now, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Yaldabaoth had meddled, to prevent me from undermining his entire game.
no subject
[She's from Futaba's palace and was about to give her the calling card. If it had been explained before to her, she might have forgotten.]
no subject
[His own reality speaks for itself, in that respect.]

I'm sure the Ren from back home would know more, but too bad he isn't here.
[Honestly she really misses her friends. She's been here for over a year, and still no sign of them.]
no subject
[Or it could be like Teddie... But he'd rather not assume too much, for as similar as the two of them are.
A small frown tugs at his lips, his gaze distant.]
no subject
[Shiho notices the frown and looking into the distance from him. Was it something she said?]
Something the matter?
no subject
One of my friends isn't too unlike Morgana. He started off unsure of himself and the nature of his existence. He was able to make peace with his nature, as he grew to be so much more, but with Morgana so adamant about his humanity, sometimes I worry.
no subject
[She can't say about Teddie, given she's never met him.]
no subject
[He stops, chuckling.]
Although it's a rather grotesque mental image, I won't lie.
no subject
That sounds like something out of a horror movie. Morgana ending up in a cocoon like a caterpillar would be less disturbing.
[Though the mental image of Morgana gaining butterfly wings sounds really adorable. Morgana would likely not like that if he was here.]
no subject
[Heh... Or like Persona evolution, perhaps. It's comparable enough.]
no subject
[Depending on context and how it appears.]
no subject
[He glances at the screen with a chuckle.]
Then again, perhaps some things are best left unseen.

[She's seen the movie title before, but didn't bother to go see it. She's not into boys at all.]

That was the result of Magpie's improper party conduct and a late night conversation in its aftermath.
Forgot to answer this tag earlier, oops.
[She's not sure she wants to.]
