[EVENT] Memory Tapes

On the morning of November 21st, denizens in the Velvet Room will awake to a message on their phones or by their bedsides in an envelope. Perhaps even on their computer screens.

Greetings! If you've received this message, then you've been selected as a participant in a new activity to strengthen bonds within this community.

In order to facilitate connections with your fellow residents, we advise you to watch this video. Watch it and return the tape to its rightful owner. If you lacked the means to watch VHS tapes before, we have provided you with the necessary equipment.

Failure to do so may put your own memories at risk. Do not be selfish, lest you find yourself struggling to recall crucial moments of your life. You have no way of knowing which memories have been shared, so ask yourself if it is worth the risk to selfishly hoard another's secrets.

They will soon find a VHS tape, with a case that gives off a soft, blue glow to symbolize its importance. If they lack a TV or VCR, they will find one in their living space.

What they do is up to them, but they should heed the warning, if they value their own memories.

That wouldn't surprise me. Nothing seems permanent here, plus it feels like something they would do to try to throw us off.

As 'bonding activities' go, this does seem a bit extreme.

[Especially since Haru has a pretty good idea of what would be shown to others from her own memories.]

And feels kinda desperate. As if they are losing patience with us.

[He would say he almost expects the Velvet Room to force them in 'get along shirts' or handcuffed together, but he doesn't want to give them ideas.]

They shouldn't have packed the place with half Goro by volume, then, nor with half the rest of us coming from a similar position. All told, Igor's lucky there haven't been more murder attempts.

I do still wonder why there's so many Akechis and so many of me/Akiras. Hell, I'm not sure why I was brought here as I'm fine and not any need of healing.

[Well there is the fact that, aside from Sumire, he'll have to leave the girls behind, as well as all his other confidants, which does make him quite sad. Also some bitterness at his friends refusing to wake up at first (plus some jealousy in that they got to be human again while under Maruki's spell). But in that case, he's already forgiven everyone.

But other than that, he's fully accepted his vampire nature and appearance.]

I doubt it's all about healing. And if it is, again, this is precisely the wrong cocktail of people to achieve it.

I agree. There's gotta be something else that they aren't telling us.

[It would be easier if they just came out and say it, but that's never how the Velvet Room works.]
