[EVENT] Memory Tapes

On the morning of November 21st, denizens in the Velvet Room will awake to a message on their phones or by their bedsides in an envelope. Perhaps even on their computer screens.

Greetings! If you've received this message, then you've been selected as a participant in a new activity to strengthen bonds within this community.

In order to facilitate connections with your fellow residents, we advise you to watch this video. Watch it and return the tape to its rightful owner. If you lacked the means to watch VHS tapes before, we have provided you with the necessary equipment.

Failure to do so may put your own memories at risk. Do not be selfish, lest you find yourself struggling to recall crucial moments of your life. You have no way of knowing which memories have been shared, so ask yourself if it is worth the risk to selfishly hoard another's secrets.

They will soon find a VHS tape, with a case that gives off a soft, blue glow to symbolize its importance. If they lack a TV or VCR, they will find one in their living space.

What they do is up to them, but they should heed the warning, if they value their own memories.

Falcon is already there, holding on to a tape, and looking... less than happy about the whole situation. When he spots Drake, his expression tightens, but he approaches, regardless.

"Drake," he says, in lieu of a greeting, "let us make the exchange, then."

His voice is terse. He is not happy about this.

Ren holds out the tape without a word. Falcon is written on the sleeve. His expression barely changes, but someone who knows him well or looks closely might be able to see a hint of apology there.

If Falcon sees the hint of an apology, he elects to ignore it, a scowl affixed to his face. If one looks closely, they might notice the anxiety under the anger, and a hint of what may be an apology, too.

He doesn't feel great about having invaded Drake's privacy like this twice. At least the first time was with some sort of consent, but this time...

He guesses he'll find out just what it is Drake saw in a moment.

He holds out Drake's tape, and grabs his own from him. Quick, to make this exchange as painless as possible.

That suits Ren. "Thanks," he says. He pulls out a pen and scribbles From Falcon on the sleeve of his tape before turning to leave. And that's that, as far as he's concerned.

And Falcon does the same, uninterested in dragging this out any longer than it needs to. He, too, turns to leave, tape in hand.
