The Silence After the Storm
The Ken Amada who made certain threats, whom Igor didn't bring to the Velvet Room and didn't welcome, has been permanently contained within his other-world self. Many of the Velvet Room residents mobilized in the effort to neutralize the threat he posed, and now, in the moments after the devastating battle that sealed Ken away, perhaps you have business to conclude.
Maybe you're a fighter, left in the rubble the battle made of its surroundings—or maybe you were a noncombatant this time, left behind to wonder what's happening or prepare for the aftermath. Maybe you linger around the battle site, or maybe you have other things to do.
Or maybe you didn't survive. Maybe you're one of the glowing forms slowly coalescing in front of Igor's desk in the Velvet Room over the course of the subsequent half hour. Igor presides over them gravely, with no sign of his usual smile. Near his desk sits a box of snacks, familiar to anyone who's used the operation's training room.
[[ooc: This post is a general catch-all for the aftermath of the battle! It's backdated to February 26, the day Ken got got.]]

No, last time, she got to gently drift off while being held in the warm arms of those she loved most, surrounded by laughter and friends. This death was the more 'common' one, and she definitely knows which she prefers.
"Were you the one that got hit in the head?" she asked, tapping her own forehead to gesture.

Which feels weirdly ironic now. He's still proud of having saved the world from Yaldabaoth.

"At least you saved the world in the end, right?" Even if turning into a door must have sucked.

With a little pause, she gestured to the Velvet Room at large. "So-- of course I had to step in here, too, with that version of Ken Amada having power from Nyx herself."
no subject
Ren does recall hearing about that. "I did hear some of the details when things were being explained about him."
Even if he doesn't know anything about Nyx.

After a sleepy sigh...
"On a less exhausting day, you should tell me about this 'control god' too."
no subject
He should head back soon. He's definitely not leaving the apartment anytime soon unless he needs to.

"Call me Hamuko. Did you pick a cool thematic nickname?"
no subject
"Nice to meet you, Hamuko." Ren shakes his head. "I haven't come up with one yet. Been tricky coming up with something that isn't too cliche. I've been going by 'the Vampire Ren' for now."
He really needs to come up with something soon.

Hamuko hummed, leaning in and peering at him, as if gauging...
"Strix, maybe? Or Strigoi... both of those sound like cool nicknames to me."
no subject
He pauses. Both of them refer to monsters that feed on blood. But on the other hand they both sound cool.
"Hmm...maybe." He'll think on it more.

She laughed a little.
"I kind of doubt I'll encounter another 'me' or have as much of the same problem as you and the Akechis have. But I came here and got to claim my first name!"
no subject
"Never say never. She could appear one day."
The Velvet Room is unpredictable like that.
no subject
She chuckled a bit.
"I wouldn't begrudge that though - she probably needs to stretch her legs as much as I did."
no subject
Not a bad thing of course.

No doubt 'cause of Okumura. Wildduck is starting to recover a bit after it wasn't doing so hot for a while.

He kinda wants to see her tackle it. Especially if she has as big of a stomach as Sumire. Especially pre-vampire.

Likely more than the standard three, but who knows. Maybe she could even take on the Rainy Day Beef Bowl Challenge in Inaba too.

"As friends. I have a boyfriend back home." he exchanges numbers with her anyway. "Yeah I think we all deserve to take it easy for a while since the threat is over."
Apparently there's a palace and something weird going on with the Midnight Channel, but he's not sure about that.
